A subtle banana flavor comes thru in this moist whole wheat loaf...flecked w/ poppy seeds, the sweet slices are wonderful warm & spread w/ butter.

Ingredients

Prep: 15 min. Bake: 4 hrs.

3/4 c. water (70 - 80 deg. F.)
1/4 c. honey
1 egg, lightly beaten
4 1/2 tsp. vegetable oil
1 med. ripe banana, sliced
2 tsp. poppy seeds
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 3/4 c. bread flour
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast

Method

In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color & loaf size if available. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 min. of mixing; add 1 - 2 tbsp. water or flour if needed).
Yield: 1 loaf (1 1/2 lbs.).

Note: if your bread machine has a time-delay feature, it is not recommended for this recipe.

The other day my Father-in-law wanted to know how to include dry yeast in regular food intake.

I'm sending this page to him.

Wonderful simple delicious recipe!
