Tips on how to organize your life so that you can have more time to do the things you want

Main

As the New Year lies ahead of us, now is around the time when many of us began to get ideas of finally getting their life/house/etc. organized and de-cluttered.

Getting organized and staying organized is a very difficult thing for most people to do, but by do so it will save you a lot of time and angst in your life. It definitely will take some getting used to and constant monitoring, but eventually it will become a regular part of your life and something your will come to love.

The problem most of us face when trying to get organized is they have no idea where to start.

The most important key in organization that you should do from the very beginning is first getting rid of all the unnecessary things. If you don’t use it on a constant basis, either put it in a box and store it or throw it away because it is only cluttering your life.
Once you have an uncluttered living and work space, we can move on to the next phase in organization and that is getting your life organized.

If you are like how I used to be, you probably forget things all the time because you never take the time to write them down. That is why the very first thing you must do to get your life organized is some type of planner/to do list that you can have accessible to yourself at all times. That means either setting up your cell phone, iPad or even a paper planner – whatever is easiest for you that you know you will always have with you and look at everyday.

Once you have that, then you need to spend the time to break things down first on a yearly level. That means birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Then you can break things down on a monthly/weekly level where you can write such things as long-standing regular meetings you might have and things of that nature. Lastly you will break things down on a daily/hourly basis, which is the most important.

Throughout your day as you figure out new things that you need to do or schedule, you need to write them down in your planner as soon as possible. At the end of the day, you can go through whatever you have written down and organize it properly. In the morning you then can look at your planner and know exactly what you want to do with your time that day.

There are many ways to get yourself organized, but that was a few helpful starter tips that will allow you to get on your way to a more organized and happy life.
