All you have to do is include the link of your website in the signature of the forum. This will enable the other members of the forum to have a look at the website. Of course only the interested members go about looking at your website.
It can be said that forum posting is genuine method of search engine optimization since you will be inviting the related and potential customers to your site. In other words the traffic attracted to your site is an organic one and it is a quality traffic as well. For that to happen you should include the link in the signature of related forums only. Any other non-related forum may not serve the purpose for that matter. For example if you are selling a health-related product then it would be beneficial for you to include your link in the signature of a health-related forum than a web hosting forum. On the other hand including your link in the signature of a health-related forum will result in a few sales!
