Modern Warfare 2: A Guide to Gameplay
This is a guide that will help you be better in Modern Warfare 2.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the brand-new, most anticipated game ever and now has millions of users across all consoles including PS3, PC, XBOX and all others.... There are many posts out there, and questions and websites asking and explaining how to be good at this game. The majority of guides are expensive and will cost you money to use, and often they don't even make sense, so I am here to guide you to be the best online MW2 gamer you can be.
Starting Out (Level 1-10)
Basically, this is the start of your adventure into MW2, and you are yet to unlock the section of "create a class" which means you have to play for a while with the default guns that are set out for you. Some people might complain about this and say they want to create their own weapons, but in some ways this is actually a very large advantage as you get random perks and attachments selected which means you get a hint of what is going to come. This also is an advantage because when you start creating your own guns, you will not have access to some of the higher perks. So take advantage while you can of these weapons that are made for you.
Creating a Class
In Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward have quite clearly put a large amount of effort into the "create a class" section. There is a record amount of guns included in the game and whilst it being so simple, i manage to spend hours just trying out different perks, weapons, weapon attachments, grenades, secondary weapons and many other things...
I often get a lot of questions as to what is the perfect class. What is the perfect combination of weapons put together? This is really an impossible question to answer as there is no "perfect" combination of weapons. The perfect class is merely defined by what is preferred by the user and what their style of playing is. For example if you are a player who likes to sneak around and flank the enemy, you would want to use perks that would hide you from radars and allow you to sprint for an unlimited amount of time, and quite obviously you would use silenced, close-range weapons. If you are a player that prefers to hit the enemy front on at a medium to long range, then you would use different weapons to that of a "sneaky" person...
Personally, I use the ACR for the majority of my games. I will rarely use WA2000 on wide open maps. The ACR is the perfect gun, it is medium to long distance, but will also pwn short range.
note: All Brackets are if available:
Primary Weapon: ACR (Grenade Launcher) Secondary: Ranger (Akimbo) Grenades: Frag, Stun Perks: Scavenger, Stopping Power, Scrambler Death Streak: Final Stand
Primary Weapon: WA2000 (Silencer, Heartbeat Sensor) Secondary: Ranger (Akimbo, FMJ)Grenades: Frag, Stun Perks: Bling, Stopping Power, Scrambler Death Streak:Final Stand
Sneaky (like to flank opposition)
1. Primary Weapon: MP5k (Silencer) Secondary: Any Machine Pistol (Silencer) Grenades: Frag, Stun Perks: Marathon, Cold-Blooded , Ninja or Scrambler Death Streak:Final Stand
If any of you have your own classes that you use, feel free to comment and add yours in, i'm sure many people value your opinion.
Once the player enters Prestige Mode for the first time in Modern Warfare 2, they will be rewarded with a sixth custom class slot. The same occurs at every odd prestige level, so a total of five additional custom class slots can be unlocked by Prestige Level 9. In addition, the in-game Intel hint system states that any earned titles and emblems obtained before entering Prestige Mode are not lost.
If a player enters Prestige Mode in Modern Warfare 2, all unlocked weapons, killstreaks, perks and challenges will be reset. The challenges unlocked through Prestige for each gun, however, persist to the next Prestige level (the kills and headshots for each gun's Mastery and Veteran challenges do not reset). This exception also applies to the challenges in the Prestige category that deal with killstreaks (getting a certain number of kills with a specific killstreak reward). Titles, emblems, and accolades are also unaffected.
* Prestige 1: Extra Custom Class Slot (6 Total), New Emblem, New Title, "Prestige" Tier of Challenges, including Veteran and Mastery challenges for each weapon
* Prestige 2: New Emblem, New Title
* Prestige 3: Extra Custom Class Slot (7 Total), New Emblem, New Title
* Prestige 4: New Emblem, New Title
* Prestige 5: Extra Custom Class Slot (8 Total), New Emblem, New Title
* Prestige 6: New Emblem, New Title
* Prestige 7: Extra Custom Class Slot (9 Total), New Emblem, New Title
* Prestige 8: New Emblem, New Title
* Prestige 9: Extra Custom Class Slot (10 Total), New Emblem, New Title
* Prestige 10: New Emblem, New Title
Note that contrary to popular belief, Prestige 10 does not unlock the ability to equip four killstreaks instead of three.
I will be releasing guide 2 in a number of days..
The next guide will include levelling up higher and techniques on how to play...
