Orbs And Other Photograph "Anomalies"

Orbs, Orbs: What Are They?
Orbs are a recently new phenomenon that have been captured with the introduction of digital cameras in the 1990's. They were first thought to be malfunctions by the camera makers but to this day the manufacturers claim these "orbs" to be microscopic particles floating in the air. Orbs have been accepted, certainly in the psychic community, as real evidence of spirit presences whereby they are supposed to represent the essence, or soul of a departed spirit. Now it's hard to paraphrase that. But let me share my own picture with orbs on it, or what looked like them regardless of their authenticity. And let me tell you, I've always known I've lived in a house our home, kinda haunted and mystical.
My Pet Orbs
The above photo was taken by yours truly of himself, testing my then brand new mobile phone camera while I changed into my swimming trunk at the house of a friend in Boracay, Philippines some 5 years back. It was only very recently, when I was looking at my souvenir photos, that I noticed those strange orbs.
But that's not all, folks.
This Mysterious "Band of White Light: Outdoor Vortex"
What got me to search the internet, hence for the pic above, was also my own photo taken years back when we held a series of seminar in Bohol, Philippines, so far away from home.
This band of white light, or what I came across on the web as "vortex" has, to my surprise, been experienced by others, too, captured in their photos, again by digital cameras.
According to one local researcher on this phenomenon, Jaime Licauco, in his book Ghosts In Photos: " Although i cannot tell for sure whether these are spirits or something else, they appear more often in spiritual circles, haunted houses, sacred places and clinics of spiritual healers during healing sessions." (italics mine.)
So let me share another picture of mine taken in Baclayon Church, also in Bohol, the oldest Church in the Philippines since the Spanish times.

Okay, now you'll see me posing for the camera before the photographer saw how I lost my composure. The fact of the matter is, there is/was a "band of white light" there at the upper right hand corner of the picture.
I cannot explain those "anomalies" in the photographs away.
I hope Wikinutters who are adept at photography can help me dispel my superstitions, even while I should caution you that my years of yoga and meditation seem to be bearing fruits: Ghosts!:D

Dear Buzz, This time around, I will have to answer in both a negative and a positive way. Firstly in the negative, Scientific experimentation has conclusively determined that their subjects of scrutiny were indeed microscopic pollen spores as well as water residue on a camera lens. In the positive, I do believe that since at sub atomic level, everything we know consists of energy, and energy radiates (shines) why not then the departed who have returned to dust? I am so interested in this subject. the orbs you captured in your bath room though could be water droplets and a lot of orbs in one sitting in the same place are or could be moisture in the air.
Just recently i took a vid of my son and when i played it back there was sometime that came across the screen i blueish white round circle. now i didn't see this with my naked eye only when i played it and there is no explanation for it either so me being me am convinced that is an orb.
I have also been ghost hunting and when we have gone back through the photos have seen some very strange things on the pictures.

could be a reflection of the flash bounding back? who knows. the only way i think you will know if it is something is to take a few pics of the same thing and see if it is on all the pics or not. as if it was an orb it wouldnt be. I done this with my vid i took I took some more in the same place and nothing was on them.

I have owned and used every lind of digital camera, from a simple Kodak point and shoot to my Nikon D-90 and I have yet to encounter this phenomenon.

If you have a good photo editer sometimes you can play with the image and it will reveal much more clearly what you are seeing. Most often that will not be a paranormal phenomena. Try it.

Thanks, Elaine. I did not include in this article another photo of a co-worker of mine on whose image what seemed like my hologram was superimposed. Eery but this friend died 6 months later! What was that all about, a premonition?

Thank you, Buzz. Now we see your picture. You are a handsome young man! Not really relevant, but I was told that a guest was present at a wedding and a guest was present whom nobody knew. When the photos were printed, there was a blank gap in each picture where the stranger would have stood.

I do not have views either way, Buzz. But I applaud your taking up this topic with supporting pictures too. The paranormal, ET visitations are experienced by few with such a bend of mind. I also believe that animals have some sense that we humans lack, to feel beyond our perceptions, notably impending earthquakes, tsunamies etc. So much happening beyond our perceptions. A real feast you have served for thought! siva

Fascinating stuff Buzz..I have a photo that I took whilst decorating the main bedroom in our cottage, and when it was developed (and yes, that is going back a way..lol)..there was a man's face coming out of a solid 20 inch stone wall..Talk about spooky! It certainly put chills up my spine!.. A really great Star page my friend..\0/xxx

Wow, Bev, that was indeed spooky. I know for a fact that ghosts are (still nowadays, at least) a cherished tradition in England. I've read about Borley Rectory, the most haunted house in England and, of course, the celebrated ghost hunter, Harry Price.

Orbs are not a new thing. They are indeed spirits, because beings are actually spheres of knowledge. Look at mother earth...look at planets, galaxies, atoms, they are all spheres...so are we after the physical body dies...there are references in mythology as well, just Google it.

Thank you for becoming a follower and I can tell you what the orbs of light are. I belong to a Christian Ministry called Second Eighth Week Ministries. The Ministry was established by Apostle Eric vonAnderseck. He and his wife Maria wrote a book called; Breaking The Antichrist Code, The Blueprint of Deception. In this book they describe these orbs. Since I have seen them myself I completely agree. These orbs are Ministering Angels. They are around us all the time helping us humans through our day. They mend the mind and spirit of each person alive and dead. They are here to record our existence and the things we do with that existence. They are usually invisible to the naked eye, but some spiritual people can see them. When we become Christians and ask God to show us the invisible realm of the spiritual, things change very drastically. As a member of God's Covenant I had the pleasure of seeing them first hand and was in awe! They are not Aliens, they are the pure spiritual energy produced by God. Kay
