South Korea Dog Farms- Consumption of Dog meat legal. Would you eat your pet?
South Korea is a hot bed for controversy as the realization that Dog farms and slaughter houses exist and the consumption of dog meat is largely accepted and practiced. Should it be illegal to keep the animals in poor conditions and slaughter them just for consumption.
Man's best friend. Another's lunch.
Do you have a dog or know someone who does? Now imagine your pet being caged in poor conditions and eventually slaughtered so someone can have it as a meal. I cherish my dog as a part of my family and I can not fathom his demise just to feed someone. Some places around the world see dogs and cats in another light. They see them as yummy food and in most cases they have no second thoughts of this practice.
Dog farms and slaughter houses
They exist that's a fact and in South Korea farms and slaughterhouses are prominent. Dogs are held in mostly poor conditions until auctions are held. Potential buyers check the dogs for meat quality and etc. before bidding. Once the auction has concluded they slaughter and package the animal. While the method of execution is quick and humane as compared to the practices of the past,I still find it appalling.
Is it about Religious beliefs?
Some claim eating canine and other taboo animals give them power, energy, and make them closer to their God. What infuriates me is the fact that in South Korea there are no laws against these farms, slaughter houses, and dog meat consumption. How could someone do it?
For me it's simple, I'd become a vegetarian or starve before eating a dog. My hope is that in the near future strict laws will be in place to stop these atrocities. What are your views on this subject? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
