Barbecues will be lit all around the USA come Super Bowl Sunday, yes we will be grilling, chicken, hamburgers, steaks and of course hot dogs. Yes my friends, meat will be had.

Meat!

Sunday, February 5, 2012, the New York Giants and the New England Patriots will once again be playing each other, for the Super Bowl XLVI championship title. Teams have already been picked, the bets are now placed and it is just time to get ready for some football.

Some Americans will opt for the barbecue grill, while others will be cooking in the oven, on the stove and even in crockpots. Even though each cook shall have their own cooking method, one thing they will all have in common is meat.

Yes we will supply our guest with the most mouthwatering meat they will ever place in their mouths. Even our furry friends will get some meat thrown on the grill for their enjoyment...

They are family, right!

Men will take to holding their barbecue utensils with pride, they not only have brought the meat home, they now will cook it, they are men, they must barbecue!

Really!

Okay, let us be real, usually the man starts the barbecue, I mean they must ignite something and after the third hot dog has been burned, us women will take over. At least that is how it has gone in my household for decades.

Of course being a good wife, I will allow my husband to take credit for the meat that will be grilled. I will not mention that I was the one that shopped for the meat, marinaded it and then was the one that actually cooked most of the meat they are now enjoying.

Man Rule: Do not burn the meat, it is not right and it makes the wife mad

Meat: It's What's for Dinner

Yes we will be having meat. This is the Super Bowl by the way, we want action and meat!

There will be 100 million Americans watching the New York Giants and the New England Patriots go head to head, as they gobble up sweet and tangy ribs.

Burgers will be served and they will be big, juicy and darn tasty.

We will have other stuff alright but, what we really want is...

Meat!

Almost Super Bowl Time!

EFF-IT-BALLS have been made. You have your appetizers in the refrigerator, just waiting for your guest to arrive. Yes my friends, Kick off will begin in a little less than 24 hours.

This is the time to go around and make sure you have everything and anything your guests will desire. Some of your guest might be your enemy (just for Sunday) but, we will love them again Monday and they will once again be our team.

So make sure you treat your enemy with as much love as you can muster up and feed them well. Remember dishes will need to be done, no need in making your dishwashers, oops I mean those you love, too upset over (wink, wink) a football game.

Check Your List!

Come morning time, Dan will add ice to our wash tub of drinks. He will go to the basement and make sure he has enough ice for our guest. If not, Dan already has a back up plan. John did borrow his saw last week, he does have a deep freeze in his basement...

Super Bowl is the time you must call on all the people you know, so they can help you and your guest have the most fun they will have at any Super Bowl Party. Until next year, that is.

I will make sure we have plenty of Iced tea made for those that do not partake in alcoholic beverages. I will also cut up lemon, limes and orange wedges to garnish our guest drinks.

I will make me a list when I get up in the morning and as I go through each step, I will cross it off. We must be prepared!

I will go to You Tube and get the latest prank videos on the New York Giants and send it to my son, so he will remember, it is football time and my team is going to kick his team's butt!

After I have checked and re-checked everything, I will grab me a cold glass of southern iced tea, kick back and wait for the guest to arrive.

Play Ball!

Sweet Tee is already setting up at the scimage line, as Bugg slowly walks up, ready to get in position, yes these two are ready for the games to begin. I know I am ready, now let us play some...

Love it! I will be barbecuing too but if the temperature continue as they have been the last few days, I wont need to worry about filling up the old galvanize washtub with ice. The only ice I will need will be for those who insist on diluting perfectly good Crown with water from the ice cubes in the glass. Me, I'll drink mine neat with a Coors chaser. Meat wise...besides the traditional hamburgers and hot dogs, it's going to be venison and bear steaks in my neighborhood. I have plenty of everything which is a good thing because I will probably have many unexpected guest--both two and four-legged.

Sounds like a darn good time. Rofl, I do not see how you and Dan drink crown period, even with him and his ice to add to it, I am a bud type of girl. I will not be partaking today though, as Tristan is spending super bowl and the night over here with Gammy. Bugg and Sweet Tee will love that, they really are starting to be Tristan's buds when he is here. They follow him around the whole time he here. Jerry, I swear it is just like seeing (his daddy) my son little, all over again. It is just the best! I have cooked venison a lot of times but usually, it is just when we barbecue but, Dan's friend is having 2 deer processed and he is giving us the meat to one. I am going to be working on some venison recipes in the next two weeks. I admit I do not know where to start but, I will work it out. I have never had bear meat, interesting. Well you have pretty much seen what we will be having, other than my chili I am making. I really wish I could have finished that one, oh well, there is always next year. Have a great Super Bowl my friend. As always, thank you for stopping by.:)

Thanks Steve, I have to admit, I think this series turned out okay. It was a lot of fun to do but, my mucles are screaming! Jamie (friend/massage therapist) is going to have fun, stretching these muscles out. She will be like a kid in a candy store, she says I am her dammit doll twice a week. Gotta love her! As always, thank you for your kind words and for stopping by.:)

Hi Madan, if I called myself a chef, all the experts would scream, no! I find a lot of home cooks should use that title, no they didn't go to school and get a degree. They just got their degree cooking for decades for family and friends. Food was always a big thing with my Mama and her family, as I was growing up. Not as in, over eating, just the joy of cooking and learning new things by experimenting. So yes, my teachers started on me back when I was knee high to a grasshopper. I have been in school since Grandpa (Navy cook) first had me standing on a chair as he made all, one of his delicious dishes he would serve us. As always, thank you for sharing.:)

I enjoyed my sister’s SB party, all the food and the game as I trust you did. I do so enjoy your articles, recipes, general outlook on life, how you describe it and the pictures. You are so gracious to attempt replying to all the comments and that has to be time consuming. You are the Paula Dean of Wikinut. Keep up the great work and all my best to you and yours.

I am so glad you had a good time. Yes we had a blast also. Other than the mere fact our kids team beat Dan & I's team. Now we have to pay up.LOL
My son and I always bet each other and Dan and our daughter always bet each other on the Super Bowl. Our daughter is 2000 miles away from us now but, we still called her all throughout the game. She wasn't very happy at times but, she got the last word, when she called Pops and yelled 'Go Giants, told ya so, told ya so!". You gotta love it. When our kids grow up and spread their wings, it sure is nice when they do still share these little moments with us. Robb, thank you so much for these sweet words. They really mean a lot, especially coming from you. Now you know I love me some Paula and yes sir, I will take that the initials PDW on my dressing room door, you know, that room down the hall with the door marked 'Women's', the second stall is mine. LOL
To be honest, at times it can be a bit hard on me, only because of the illness I live with. If not for that then, I it would not be a issue at all. I have always been a hard worker. I am so grateful that y'all come and give me a atta girl. Thank you for the well wishes. May you and yours have a very blessed day. As always, thank you for stopping by.:)

Also Robb, when I sent you that message directly to you, it was because I saw you just commented, it was 5:30 in the morning and I just finished my last page on this super bowl. I really pushed myself but, I was determined to get it done. Even if it was 1 minute before kickoff, I was going to finish. I am glad it wasn't that late. But any how, I had to get on FB and twitter, my computer will not allow me to be on all three and function well. So I have to put up FB and then add my articles. Then get out of FB and get on twitter and tweet my stuff there. If it was not for the fact that these articles were for this specific event and day, I would have waited a day to network and I would have left you and the others comments. I Just wanted you to know, I recognized that you had taken the time to visit one of my pages.:)

Thank you Carol for your kind words. Super Bowl is a fun day for us Americans. We have had such a divide in the country over the last few years, at least on this one day, most of us agree on one thing, football! Gotta love it!
Carol, you know I had to sneak the boys into these pages. You know I love my doggies and to be honest, Bugg is my bread and butter. Oh okay, well with what I make here, to be honest, I am not able to buy bread and butter but, you get my gist.LOL
