The Use of Links in your Wikinut, or other Paid to Write, Article

Internet article writers, who are paid per view, know the biggest struggle is not in writing, but in getting views. Many writers spend hours spamming forums, submitting links here and there, begging for views. But I have an another effective, easy, way of getting more views without being so invasive, or taking so much time.
What Sites do you Write for?
I currently only write for these two sites, Triond and Wikinut. My wife, however, also writes for Factoidz, Helium, Bukisa, and has two blogs (one on sheep, one on exotic pets) on blogger. When appropriate we try to link our pages to other related pages, and articles.
How many sites do you write for? Even if you only write for one site you can still take advantage of linking your pages together, in fact as long as you have some related pages you should always do this.
Each Site has Different Rules about Links, it is Important to know these rules (and be aware they may change from the current rules, as of December 2010, which I am posting). Some sites are a bit more accepting of links to other sites than are others.
Factoidz is pretty strict against allowing links to pages (they say "unless it adds value") that are not to Factoidz itself, as well Factoidz does not allow you to republish until 30 days have passed. Nor are they too happy if you include referral codes, or even references, to other paid to write sites.
Triond is probably the most generous, however they do insist that you publish to Triond first before republishing the same page elsewhere, but you can do this as little as 24 hours later. Triond is great because they allow you to post referral links to other sites too.
Wikinut allows you to republish your Triond article (or other article you own the rights to), and allows for links to other sites, however they do not allow you to post your referral link to other sites.
Bukisa allows you to republish your Wikinut article (or other article you own the rights to), but only if it is informative (they do not accept poetry), and they allow you to link to other sites.
Blogger allows anything, I typically see people print the first paragraph, or two, of an article on their Blog then link to the original. Many people who have blogs link to sites that are not even their own, and in doing so simply to increase the reading value, SEO, and followers, of the blog itself.
How Many Links Should a Page Have?
By having 3-5 quality outgoing links on articles this not only increases SEO on both pages (by having some quality outgoing links, as well as quality incoming links) thus giving the page more value to search engines, but also helps in gaining more views by those who click to see those other links.
I strongly encourage writers to link to 3-5 related pages every time they write. Any more than that is overwhelming and nobody is going to click on that many related pages. In this way people can integrate their Wikinut pages with other pages and get more views by people clicking through.
Have more, particularly if you have them in a List form, as I do here, is particularly unimpressive, and confusing to a reader.
Having unrelated links is confusing to the search engine, and unprofessional.
When you write a series, having a link to the First part of the series, as well as the following page, is very important.
As well it is important to link to all Photo Sources when your own pictures are not being used. Of course you must check that all photos used are copyright free to use on commercial sites, in fact here is a link on that!
I should add that linking pages is most valuable in terms of when you write informative articles. While some people will click to see “Other Poems by this Author” its more likely they will follow links for “More Information on....”.
I like to add my Wikinut Referral Code too!
How to Add Links on Wikinut?
Links can either be imbedded in your article (as I did when mentioning my wifes Blog), or listed in a Links Section.
Wikinut makes it easy to add links!
Just highlight the word, or phrase you want to have turned into a Link, (number 1) then click the Link button (number 2) and follow through on the pop up window. Even if you do not have links of your own to add, Wikinut will provide you with some related links to pick from. In this case I would type in the word ONE, highlight it, pick a related link - and then change the word "ONE" into the title of the article I selected.

Right Mark agree with you.
If only I could go back to some of my published articles here and do some reworks I would do it -
when I read them I found some unnecessary links I included with the articles.
Thanks. Good tips and suggestions.

@ppruel You can edit your previously published articles here on Wikinut. When you are viewing one of your articles, there will be an "Edit" button in the right side menu bar. You will also see an edit option if you pull your articles up in list format.

These hints and tips are great. I love finding great writes that I can to link to. And when my brain is working, and I have my pad and pen near by I write them down and then search for a write of mine to link to it. We all should do this as often as we can as long as it is like content, I am just such a scatter brain after all these years of perscription drug use. I so often forget to check my note pads. I have them and I do use them when I am thinking straight. This is a jewel for the whole comunity here. Thanks for the write and tips. Donnie/ Sinbad the Sailor Man
Also I take and copy the Short URLs and will often times post them in my walls at Facebook, When they aide in what I am trying to convay and just because I agree or like the write. Ilike this one Thanks again.
