They Are My Glory
We should not ask one another what we can do for the betterment of society to bring about justice. There are strange murders, abortions, unprovoked, unjustified satanic acts happening all around us today. As the disciples were used for the glory of the Lord then we should be too. We are His glory.
They Are MY Glory
John 17:9-10 ( ERV )
"I pray for them now. I am not praying for the people in the world. But I am praying for these men you gave me, because they are yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And my glory is seen in these men." (ERV) Full Text
My Key Thought for Today Is This
Think of all the things the disciples of Jesus did wrong. Recall all the things they misunderstood. Remember the many times they blew the opportunity to do the right thing or say the right word. During the ministry of Jesus, his disciples often came up lacking. Yet Jesus did not give up on them. He still loved them. He even continued to believe in them. Well, what did they do with that trust, that unflagging confidence that they were to be his glory?
They changed the world, not His Word. They helped create an enduring movement, not a fleeting moment of thought. They brought the message of salvation in his name to millions of people through their continuous legacy of faith, love, courage, and obedience. They are the shining lights of the Lord Jesus Christ's eternal glory.
And as they did, so do we live with the Lord, and are the lights that men can see the good works for the glory of our Heavenly Father.
Father, please forgive my lack of confidence and I ask your forgiveness of my sin and my ignorance in what Jesus can do with me today. I know Jesus' plans for me are greater than anything I could imagine. Help me not to get too down on my failures and trust that Jesus will maximize my efforts to bring him glory. Lord, even though it"s humble Lord, help us to step out in faith and do your will with your Spirit leading every step of the way.
I ask this in the name of the one I want to honor, Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
