Highs and Lows
My first event from today’s games was the Men’s triathlon with where Brothers Alistair and Jonny Brownlee pick up gold and bronze for team GB, Spain's Javier Gomez took the silver, back over to the Dressage and our Charlotte Dujardin 26. win the first ever gold In the Dressage to bring the UK to 20 gold’s giving team GB the best gold medal haul for 104 years.
Meanwhile Nick Dempsey wins silver in the windsurfing but it was a day of highs and lows as Phillips Idowu fails to qualify for triple jump final and Goldie Sayers Fails to qualify for the final of the Javelin. But in the semi-finals at the Velodrome Both Sir Chris Hoy and Vicky Pendleton go through to the final later in the evenings events.
A bolt from the blue
Usain Bolt wins 200m heat in 20.39 secs. that guy is amazing and I did feel sorry for the Cameroons as Seven Cameroonian athletes absconded, having decided to stay in Europe for economic reasons.
Other winners today were Epke Zonderland from the Netherlands Men's Horizontal Bar, Natalia Ishchenko and Svetlana Romashina from Russia in the synchronised swimming duet free routine, and from ChinaLinlin Deng at the Women's Beam and Zhe Feng on the Men's Parallel Bars all win gold for their country.
ON TO THE EARLY EVENING EVENTS
Laura Trott who was born with a collapsed lung and after being diagnosed with asthma was told to take up sport to help her wins gold to become a double Olympic champion in the Woman’s omnium 500m.
Not to be outdone Victoria Pendleton in her last race before she retires looks like she has taken first place in a very close run race with Anna Meares, the time difference was 1000th of a second, but in a surprising turnaround the officials relegate Pendle to declare Anna Meares the winner in round one of three rounds, in a dramatic second round Anna Meares takes the round to win the gold for Australia with Vicky Pendleton the silver.
Now for Sir Chris Hoy’ in his last Olympics attempts to add another medal with yet another very close race, for a moment it looked like the German was going to take the race but with an extra sprint, the real Mac'Hoy wins the gold a brilliant race for the silver from Levy of Germany and a joint bronze in a dead heat between the Kiwi Van Veltho and the Dutchman Mulder
AND TO THE EVENING EVENTS
- Iranian Ghasem Gholamreza Rezaei wins gold in the Greco-Roman wrestling
- Lawrence Okoye GB bows out of men's discus final

At the end of the day
As the mars Curiosity rover fall gentle onto the surface of the planet, Shares in Standard Chartered tumbled in the wake of the money laundering allegations and Britain with 48 medals 22 of them gold.
This is how, at the end of the day, the top twelve medals table looks with five days to go.

- Great Britain and N. Ireland
- South Korea
- Russian Fed
- France
- Italy
- Kazakhstan
