Gain more Facebook and Twitter fans for your business with these 5 simple tips! What to do to keep your customers engaged, and what to do to keep getting more fans for your business's page! Avoid these silly mistakes that will make you look foolish.

New to Social Media?

The social media revolution has taken over, giving you a chance to get the word of your business out therein ways you have never imagined before. You have your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts, but what do you post everyday to keep your customers engaged? How can you get more likes and fans? Take a deep breath and relax. There are plenty of ways to maintain an exciting business page without paying anyone but yourself for the results.

1. Find out what your fans like the most!

Figure out what works and stick to it. If pictures of sunsets and views from your hotel receive hundreds of likes and comments, then find more things like those images and keep posting them. It's better to have quality posts that receive high amounts of feedback than to have high quantities of posts that few care about.

2. Schedule posts three times throughout the day.

To avoid annoying your fans, and to stay on track, schedule what you want to post ahead of time. Plan them like your meals-- one for morning, mid-day, and evening. This will expand your fan reach. Your posts will go up the same time people have opportunities to check their accounts.

3. Acknowledge the little things.

Try to respond to all likes or comments. This makes your fans feel appreciated, and they are more likely to spread a positive word about your page. Continuous great feedback will cause their friends to see their activity, and then they will become a fan of your page also. This is "paying it forward" in the social media world.

4. Avoid silly mistakes that will make you look foolish.

Everything is valuable. Don't rush posting anything about your business. Proofread several times. Spellcheck. Erase messy, long web addresses when you copy and share a link to post (once the link appears erase it and write your own eye-catching headline). Avoid liking your own posts--that just makes your business appear pathetic.

5. Stay informed and keep informing.

Show local support. Don't miss any chance to post something, no matter the importance, if it has any potential to benefit your business. Keep up with nearby in-town events, share links for things that are similar to what your fans enjoy. If it will bring more visitors to town, it can bring more customers to your business.
