Picking a cocktail for every season can be fun and make your party a hit.

Party planning for the seasons

Throwing a great cocktail party depends on three main ingredients: guests, food and original cocktails. If you have the best of all these ingredients along with a few surprises your party will be a hit. The easiest thing to do is pick a theme for your party and create a signature drink to tag along with the bar.

If you are throwing a party in the spring you want a drink that reminds someone of the cool breezes and melting snow. A great choice is an April Shower.

½ ounce of brandy
¼ ounce of yellow Chartreuse
1 ounce of Orange Juice

Take the ingredients and pour into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for ten seconds and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with an orange twist.

The summer cocktails are hard to choose just one for a signature drink for your party. Thinking of the hot summer beaches a perfect choice is the mojito. This cool refreshing drink was found in Havana Cuba.

2 ounces of white rum
2 ounces of lime juice (fresh squeezed)
4 mint leaves
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
Crushed ice

Take the sugar, mint leaves and lime juice and muddle until mixed. Pour these into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and add the rum. Shake for ten seconds. Pour the cocktail into a highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime.

With the chill of the weather in the air and leaves starting to fall your signature cocktail should represent this season. The Stormy Cider a perfect selection.

2 parts Orange Vodka
½ part Lilet Blanc
4-6 threads of saffron
Teaspoon of hot water
Dash of simple syrup

Take the threads of saffron and hot water in a cocktail shaker and stir. Let the mixture steep for a minute. Add the ice, along with the rest of the ingredients into the shaker, and stir for fifteen seconds. Strain and put into a martini glass, garnish with an orange twist.

The snow has started to fall and the cocktail guests will be looking to warm up. A whiskey hot toddy is a ideal match for the winter weather.

1 ½ ounces of bourbon whiskey
¼ ounce lemon juice
¾ ounce simple syrup
1 clove

Put the ingredients into a pan and heat until warm. Pour the drink into a highball glass and garnish with a slice of lemon.

The talk of the town

No matter what signature drink you choose, make it around the theme of your party. Your guests will enjoy and your party will be the talk of the town.
