Acharya Rajneesh was a brilliant philosopher who interpreted the age old Tantra in a modern way.

The Brilliance of Rajneesh

Acharya Rajneesh or Osho was a thinker and philosopher from India. He was a brilliant man and built up a large following. His sharp and incisive can be gleaned from his biography. While attending a lecture on philosophy at the university, he is reported to have asked the professor a man of some repute himself as to how many wives Aristotle had.
This irritated the professor who replied how does it matter? Rajneesh replied it matters as Aristotle had 2 wives and yet stated that women had less teeth then men. He had two and he never counted. Thus the father of logic was not all that great. The fact is that at time in Greece there was a concept that women had everything less then men and Aristotle just went with the general concept.

Rajneesh and Tantra

This shows the mind of Rajneesh, incisive and sharp. He reinterpreted the Hindu concept of Tantra sex and brought forward his own concepts where orgasm became a milestone on the path to salvation and not the end itself. Tantra sex outlines a path to realize god and a path to salvation or Moksha.

Tantra is as old as Hinduism and has been practiced for centuries. But it was not put on a firm footing and the ancient granths( Religious books) were interpreted by men who themselves were not informed. They laid stress on sex, bizarre sex.

Rajneesh took out the granths from the cobwebs and interpreted the real essence of tantra sex, which was eternal bliss and being one with god. He presented tantra sex as a part of mediation.. No wonder his ashram at Pune was flooded with thousands of Americans. Rajneesh's mediation techniques involved men and women meditating in the nude and forgetting all inhibitions . Western doctors have vouchsafed for the success of Rajneesh's mediation techniques.

His Legacy

Rajneesh died in 1989, but his books and publications are all available to read. I will recommend a reading of a great philosopher. It is a misnomer to call him a love guru as Rajneesh was much more than that, he was a prophet who understood the nature of man and how to channelize it towards Moksha.

India has given to the world many great philosophers like Rama, Krishna, Buddha and Gandhi. Rajneesh is in the same category

The Rajneesh cult advocate free sex and fall in moral values. Suits you fine, you undress women openly on Wikinut and speak of your cheap love life which defines your personality.
Seen all of it as I saw families ruined in Pune because of this free sex advocacy and following out there leading India to become the AIDS capital of the world apart from Africa.

Thanks Madan. Despite modern lifestyles we have acquired much inhibitions and Osho wanted us to shed them. One need not be ashamed of our body but should not lead a debased life - siva
