Try this Baby Romaine with mixed fruit salad fir a refreshing, cool and crunchy salad as your meal starter, dessert, light snack or midnight snack.

Salad for light snack

Today, I had just whipped up a mixed salad, a wonderful combination of avocado, pear, baby romaine and garnish with chopped roasted peanuts, drizzled with mayonnaise.

The weather is hot and sunny, a great day for iced lemon tea but I wanted to try something else which is refreshing and healthy for a change.

Coincidentally, I had some left over Baby Romaine and assorted fruits in the fridge which gave me this salad recipe.

Benefits of Eating Salad

  • Salads have always considered as a healthy food in many peoples point view.

  • You can consider salad as a dessert, side dish or a late night snack which is light and refreshing.

  • I love fresh fruit salad with Baby Romaine, one of the best salad veggies that is crisp, cool and full of fibre.

  • A plate of fresh vegetables with assorted fruits is good for your body. It replenishes lost fluids naturally.

  • In addition, salads helps to ease bowel movement to easily by binding fibre, water into our waste to make it smooth and prevent constipation.

  • A small portion of salad aids our digestive system to function well.

Tips and tricks

  1. You could replace mayonnaise with any salad dressing of your choice. Sometimes, I use mixed yogurt, fruity yogurt or original flavor yogurt for a different salad taste.

  2. I would suggest you add in lemon olive oil for a tangy lemon taste, fragrant and healthy.

  3. If you are not a big fan of roasted peanuts, substitute them with almonds, cashew nuts or sunflower seeds.

  4. Better still, toss in chopped sultanas, raisins, strawberries, blueberries or dried fruits such as mangoes, apricots for more nutrients and flavor.

The salad promises to be mouthwatering. I'd love to eat it. However, kindly exercise the same care for your writing also. For example the first sentence- fir a refreshing,- it's FOR. Such typos put the readers off.
