Beets and ginger have great detoxifying properties but are difficult to to eat in large quantities. This juice recipe is a great way simple way to get the benefits.

Benefits of Drinking Fresh Juice

Drinking fresh cold pressed juice is a growing trend for two reasons. First, it’s heavily endorsed by Hollywood stars. Second and more importantly, juicing has many health benefits.

The health benefits of juicing include:
• Supporting a weight loss plan
• Improving the variety of fruits and vegetables you consume
• Better and faster absorption of nutrients
• Prevent and treat chronic disease
• Help actually eating 8 servings of fruits and vegetables a day

Benefits of the Beet Juice Detox

While the title of this recipe highlights the Beet because of it’s bold purple color, this recipe actually provides a powerful one, two detox punch with beets and ginger.

Using beets and ginger together is a great combination. Beets have high levels of choline which improves liver health and supports the body’s recovery from excessive alcohol consumption. While ginger supports improved food mobility through the gastrointestinal tract due to shogoals and gingerols.

Beet Juice Recipe

Ingredients
• 1 large beet (top removed)
• 3 carrots (about 6 inches)
• 1 lemon (no peel)
• 1 orange (no peel)
• ¼ of a whole pineapple
• 1 cup of spinach
• 2 red cabbage leaves

Directions

1. Thoroughly wash all produce
2. Peel the citrus fruit
3. Chop all product into ~ 1” food pieces
4. Process all ingredients in your juicer (A cold press or masticating juicer is recommended)

Equipment

This recipe requires a cold press or masticating juicer. A centrifugal juicer will not juice leafy greens such as spinach. I personally use the Omega VRT350HD but there are many great juicers. If you stick with an Omega, Kuvings, or Breville you really can’t go wrong.
