Some celebrities experience ghostly adventures more then others, and it is believed that the stars see more spirits then other people because of their out-of-the-box thinking, open mindedness, creative thinking, access to foreign countries and ancient structures and of course their status. Luckily the celebrities that experience supernatural phenomenon are eager to share their encounters with the public, demonstrating that it can and does happen to virtually everyone.

Ghostly Encounters with Sandra Bullock, Johnny Depp, Regis Philbin & Joan Crawford

Celebrity ghost stories and Hollywood tales about paranormal experiences are becoming more and more frequent as popularity with paranormal phenomenon grows. The Biography Channel features many of these celebrity ghost stories on American-reality documentaries for our viewing pleasure, and leaving us less inclined to think that we are going crazy alone in this delicate matter.

Johnny Depp

This A-list Hollywood star is so fascinating that even the ghosts want to know what he is up to. Johnny Depp gives a clear and candid recollection involving personal accounts of ghostly activity while on set filming the movie Public Enemies. The actor plays outlaw John Dillinger and quickly establishes that there are similarities between himself and the character he plays, because of the many hat's that he has worn through his life, from selling ink pens to working construction. Perhaps he became so familiar that Mr. Dillinger felt inclined to pay Johnny a visit, because that is exactly what the notorious bank robber did. Johnny claims that the encounter allowed him to feel the gangster ghost's presence, even though he claims it didn't spook him, the actor felt strongly that John Dillinger was watching over him during filming, giving the star his approval.

Beverley Mitchell

The Pennhurst State Mental Hospital, located in Spring City, Pennsylvania has been dubbed as being one of the most legendary asylums when it comes to hauntings and putting humans to the ultimate fear factor test. This legend became even more amplified when Beverley Mitchell was on set at Pennhurst filming the movie under the same name. While on set, Beverley Mitchell, who played younger sister "Ruthie" on 7th Heaven witnessed firsthand, the overwhelming feeling of spirits and shocking circumstances involving paranormal activity at the ghost infested hospital. Beverley is later compelled to face her worst fears and meets up with Long Island psychic Kim Russo who communicates with spirits and taps into the paranormal realm with relative ease. While en route Beverley questions why she is coming back to the very place that freaked her out so badly. With reservations she revisits the haunted Pennhurst Insane Asylum with the Biography Channel tagging along, giving viewers a personal invitation to watch as the creepy details unfold. The administration building is where Beverley felt the highest level of physical supernatural activity, and this is where Kim begins to sense that the staff brought women into the building for sexual pleasure. Male spirits totally dominate the room and the immense energy was detected by both the psychic and Beverley when walking through certain areas. Location: Church Street and Bridge Road, Spring City, Pennsylvania. Tours: September thru November. Tickets: $15.00.

Sandra Bullock

Weird News has just got even weirder with reports that Sandra Bullock went ghost hunting while in the United Kingdom. In 2011 while filming the science-fiction thriller "Gravity" in London with co-star George Clooney, Sandra Bullock, who plays Dr. Ryan Stone, definitely felt a gravitational pull from a supernatural standpoint. Sandra suffered sleepless nights because of things being not right and seeing ghostly presences while staying in a haunted converted church. The Sun, a popular British tabloid reports that the A-list celebrity feared it was haunted and had it checked out with an extensive ghost hunt from her producers. They were not let down. The place was a haven for infestations, but this comes as no surprise when you consider that charged emotional energy can remain in these buildings for hundreds of years. The popular spiritual San Diego medium Bonnie Vent claims that Sandra should tape record her experiences while asking questions or to be rid of the pesky ghosts, stay elsewhere. It is only natural for stars to have more experiences with the supernatural because they are more open-minded, easily picking up ghostly vibes because they typically live outside of the box. History, old buildings and ghostly presences are all a part of London, and if you are going to see a ghost, England is the place to make it happen.

Regis Philbin

American media personality Regis Philbin is a trusted household name who is loved by millions for his quirky comments and exhilarating mannerisms. The New York native has dabbled in everything from penning his own books to prime time television and co-hosting his own television show, and like millions of other people, Regis has dealt with paranormal activity firsthand. The Biography Channel invites you to watch as he revisits an old spirit that has haunted him throughout his life. Long Island physic Kim Russo walks Regis through his past experience in Old Town San Diego at the Whaley House where he experienced a white elevated apparition flowing directly in front of him, perhaps Anna Whaley herself, dead or alive wanted to meet the popular celebrity. The Travel Channel lists the Whaley House as the number one most haunted house in the United States, and Regis believes it after his own personal experience. Upon entering the reportedly haunted house with Regis, Kim feels an instant energy or invisible barrier that wants them to stay out of the upstairs. Sweet, musty smells begin to permeate the area where they are walking through the hallway towards an upstairs window and the overpowering feeling that someone had been shot in the chest engulfs the psychic. For Regis, the physchic has cleared up the mystery and states that "you know a lot of people who pooh-pooh it because they can't see it, but there was definitely something going on in that house. Location: Historic Old Town San Diego, 2476 San Diego Avenue, San Diego, California. Phone: 619-297-7511.

Joan Crawford

Extreme punishments involving wire hangers, outbursts, a razor sharp tongue and a dark shadowy side that the public rarely witnessed. That tongue now quieted, Joan Crawford's daughter Christina tells of the dark supernatural events that were naturally drawn in and manifested themselves within her family home, despite the many exorcisms that were performed to remove the ornery and cantankerous spirits. The movie Mommy Dearest rattled the nation with tales so horrendous that even the most open-minded person questioned the possibilities of such terrifying acts against innocent children. Joan Crawford was a force to be reckoned with and her iron fist told volumes when it came to the star's personality. Not surprisingly, Joan's Brentwood, California home possessed a sea of rumors where the paranormal was concerned, and reports of haunting manifestations and exorcisms held in the home came to light in 1989 that are far too vivid to Christina even still today. Apparitions were literally everywhere you looked. Frightened by them as a child, there was no help as Christina and her brother were always shushed. Dark, cold spots in the home where no frightened child dare to cross were easily explained away to the children as active imaginations by their mother. The movie star's strange dealings with the dark side remained up until her last breath was taken when Christina claims that just before Joan's death, she spoke to a ghost at the end of her bed, taunting it in her arrogant way, to dare not ask her for God's help.

Joan eventually sold the estate and years later it was purchased by a family that shared similar experiences in the home. Distraught, they sought the help of the Reverend Rosalyn Bruyere, a family friend who by all accounts claim that there were so many spirits living in the home, including underworld connections and ritual abuse that it literally gave her goosebumps. Every family that had ever lived in the home had suffered from some sort of illness, disease, death, divorce, addiction or mental instability. Christina claims that she wouldn't be surprised if the ghost isn't Joan herself, due to the nature of her being capable of the realest evil you can imagine. The family living in the Brentwood home during the 90's allowed HBO to film a segment on Haunted Hollywood, adding their own personal experiences to the growing list of ghostly adventures. They claimed that the cottage by the pool was the center for paranormal phenomenon and that they had seen a host of ghosts and other entities parading through the house. The couple eventually moved. A new decade has brought new life to the Crawford estate, as there have been no more reports of ghostly activity until renovations on the estate began in 2005. The general overall feeling from those involved is that Joan is very angry that her wallpaper is being torn to shreds and thrown into the dumpster.
