There comes a point in everyone’s life when they evaluate themselves. Everyone wants to make life better. We try to change ourselves for the better. Here are some steps you can take to make small changes to better you life.

Changes for the better should be done in small steps

For changes to stick, you should make them in small steps. Take a smoker for insistence, quitting all at once doesn’t work as well for someone, as cutting back does. Quitting smoking may not be the best example because of the difficulty people have in quitting. Many people need outside help to quit smoking. The point is to make a plan and break it down into small steps. Take things one step at a time and the changes have a better chance of staying with you.

A better example maybe, someone who is trying to cut back on caffeine or soda. A small change in one routine can set the stage for huge changes for the better, in the future. Don’t have that soda or coffee with lunch, have water or juice instead. After some time, eliminating one cup at a time, before you know it, you will have stopped drinking coffee or soda all together.

Change for the better takes self- discipline

  • Making any changes in your life takes self –discipline. The first thing you have to ask yourself is do you want to change this part of your life. Most people would answer yes.

  • Next you need to make a list of goals and when you hope to reach them.

  • Make a plan of action.

  • Keep track of your progress

When making changes for the better, keep in mind that everyone has setbacks. Try not be hard on yourself, if you hit a setback. Just keep going you will hit your goal in time. Never give up and keep trying.
You are trying to better yourself and, that is going to take some work.

I agree with you, you don't have to drink carbonated or caffeine drinks with food. Plain water is the best

brendamarie, thanks for sharing such a great motivational article. Two years ago I gave up pop and six months ago I gave up candy. It wasn't hard to give up the candy but it took a long time to get used to not drinking pop. Now I drink water and coffee in the morning.

Feeling better is the motivation behind most things I think that we do, but it has to be rooted in a deep feeling of inner connection to something greater too I feel, to really stick.

thanks Brendamarie
