The newest addition to Britain's Royal Family will exhibit a mind of her own and may exhibit a fondness for challenging tradition.

A "well connected" family

Prince William's Sun is in Cancer. Kate's Sun is in Capricorn. Little George's Sun is in Cancer, and Charlotte, the newest addition to the family, like her great-grandmother the Queen, is a Taurus. Thus, the family consists of two water signs - William and toddler George, and two earth signs, Kate and her newborn baby.

In astrology, earth and water mix very well. After all, water 'nourishes' the earth, so from the standpoint of comparing Sun signs the members of this family are all very compatible with each other.

In previous articles we have examined the horoscopes of the royal couple and their son George. Now, let's take a look at Charlotte's birth chart to see what it tells us.

Interpreting Charlotte's horoscope

There is no particular place to start when interpreting a horoscope. The astrologer is free to start anywhere as long as a coherent synthesis results in the end. The first thing that caught this observer's eye when looking at the birth chart is the close trine (120 degree) aspect between Charlotte's Moon in Libra and Venus in Gemini. This is par excellence the aspect of charm and likeability, and it also very often confers considerable physical beauty. There is a warm and tender personality expression here, and a genuine interest in others. Moreover, her Sun is in the eleventh house, which among other things can be said to be the house of 'love received.' Individuals with an eleventh house Sun are always extremely popular. They have a way of connecting with everybody on a friendly basis. In this sense she is destined to become a woman of the people, and her royal station will not keep her from mixing with them as if she were one of them. This is reinforced by the fact that Uranus also resides in her eleventh house. She will not care a whit about anyone's social or economic status. She will be prepared to make friends with people from every station in life, not just the upper crust.

The fact that Uranus is the planet which rises ahead of the Sun - in astrology we call that the 'planet of oriental appearance' - strongly suggests that she may be singularly unimpressed by the trappings and rituals of royalty, and that in some significant way she may challenge them. This is the horoscope of an individual who in some way, shape or form will challenge or question the established order. There is something of the rebel or revolutionary residing within the psyche of this royal.

Charlotte has Neptune in her tenth house. This is a placement which is associated with glamor. Princess Diana also had a tenth house Neptune. My guess is that Charlotte's popularity will rival Diana's and that she will be viewed by the public as every bit as glamorous.

With three of her personal planets (those closest to the earth) inhabiting her twelfth house, Charlotte will undoubtedly be concerned about the plight of the less fortunate. Having all three of these planets there reveals her as intensely compassionate. She will pour much energy (Mars) and thought (Mercury) and love (Venus) into helping and serving (12th house) those in need. Whatever the actual scenario, it is a guarantee that Charlotte will in some very significant way dedicate her life in adulthood to some cause greater than self. She will see herself as an individual who came into this life with a mission to serve.

Looking at her horoscope as a whole, it strikes me that she will be as popular and as universally loved as was Princess Diana.

Good analysis, Steve. I see the aspects image as a "Diamond in the Rough". She has Cancer Rising which will make her empathetic to the world, but she will be protective of her 'inner self'.

Christopher, I'm wonderinga bout the opposition from the twelfth house Mercury to the sixth house Saturn. I have seen that aspect show up several times in the charts of people who have very poor eyesight. What do you think?

Literally, she may not see 'eye-to-eye' with her father.

I haven't had the same experience as you, so other than what I've written above, I couldn't possibly comment.

Fascinating analysis Steve.

So, she won't get caught up in the web, (as another Charlotte did) LOL.

I didn't write about it, but she may come to odds with her mother. Her Moon, which represents the mother, is opposing Uranus and square Pluto. She could rebel (Uranus) against her mother's intensity (Pluto) and her mother's need to control her. Kate is a Capricorn, and Capricorns are very often control freaks when it comes to their children. We'll have to wait about fourteen years to find out.

I saw that one, too, Steve. So if her thinking is opposite to her father figure in the chart, and her rebellious spirit is opposite her mother figure in the chart, she really is going to be the second coming of Diana, the Peoples' Princess.

I think the eleventh house placement of her Sun and Uranus assures great popularity with the masses. Also, her Moon-Venus trine will manifest in a warm and loving personality. With her strong eleventh house, with Cancer rising - is it too far-fetched to consider that she might possibly be Diana reincarnated? Diana, of course, was a Cancer with an Aquarius Moon.

It isn't a direct link reincarnation, as you might get with a 'passing'. This does however have the links you've highlighted, and my feeling is that if Diana were to come back, she would rather be in line as a future Queen, rather than just the wife of a future King. In other words, alter the Royal Institution as an insider, not as an external add-on.

Watch this space, eh?
