It is a fun to collect Coins! This article is all about the simple hobby of collecting coins which can be very interesting and amazing!

Numismatics - A Popular Hobby.

I am a numismatist! A person interested is coin collection is known as numismatist and the hobby of collecting the coins is known as Numismatics!

This is one of the popular hobbies in the World! Numismatists they collect various types of coins which may include modern coins from various countries of the World or ancient historical coins!

That will depend upon the taste of an individual and one’s affordability!

Since it is impossible to collect the coins from all parts of World with all the denominations, normally numismatists restrict their collection to one area of interest!

My Area Of Interest.

Restricting ones interest in collecting Gold Coins, Silver Coins, Ancient Coins of copper, Coins of different denominations, coins with a theme etc are the examples of the area of interest which a numismatist can have his collection in!

My area of interest is collecting One rupee Coins. India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Seychelles and Mauritius are the countries which have Rupee as their currency.

Since most of them are Common Wealth countries they have rich history behind them, which makes an interesting area for a numismatist.

My Proud Collection.

My collection includes one rupee coins from all the countries and I am keen on collecting Historical Indian One Rupee coins.

My collection includes the “First One Rupee” coin ever introduced in the World by Sher Shah Suri in 1542 AH in India.

I have already published a details article about this Coin! I have coins of one rupee denominations from pre Independent and Post Independent era of India. The Pre Independent coins include the silver coins of Mughal Empire, Independent Kingdoms during Mughal Empire, Indian Princely States, East India Company, Regal Coinage, and Independent Kingdoms during British Rule, Indian Enclave, East India Company and British India.

I have got all the Post Independent coins issued by the Government of India after the Independence.

Certificate From Limca Book Of Records.

I have got about 140 coins in all and I have systematically arranged these coins in an album after packing them properly in a coin holder.

Each coin is having a short history on a piece of paper under it. The high light of my collection is One Rupee Coins with Mint errors!

I will write a detailed article about these coins later on!

I feel proud to say that my name has been included in the ‘Limca Book of Records’ a National Record book and I have been awarded with a Certificate too!

Numismatics is an interesting hobby and I would strongly recommend to the young generation to develop this hobby as teaches a lot about the glorious history of various countries!

PS: The pictures are taken from Google Search Images. I sincerely extend My Thanks to them.
