Cypress trees can be used for a variety of landscaping purposes. These are evergreen trees that grow very fast. Many homeowners prefer growing cypress trees to create a mass evergreen foliage. Some grow to an average height of fifty feet. These trees are best grown in zones 6 through 10. They thrive in full sun and well drained soil. They are also excellent for planting along a border to create a privacy screen. Cypress trees are often used as windbreak trees. They can overwhelm a landscape so they should be pruned early. The cypress tree should never be planted to close to a house or shed because they are shallow rooted trees that can fall over easily in a storm.

Many swamps are dominated by these beautiful majestic trees.
