Egyptian Food Recipes: Turley (Mixed vegetables and meat)

I'll give you the recipe of a wonderful meal which is called by Egyptians (Turley). It is a mixture of meat and vegetables and that is considered a rich and nutritious meal significantly, however, it is easy to setup and you can remove or add any other type of vegetables.

You need

1 pound green peas
1 pound green beans
1 pound carrots
1 pound potatoes
2 pounds minced beef or any meat of your choice
5 cups fresh tomato sauce
1 cup diced onion
Seasonings (Salt, black pepper, hot chili powder, cinnamon and nutmeg)
Vegetable oil for frying
2 sliced tomatoes

Directions

1- Wash all vegetables and clean very well
2- Peel potatoes and carrot skin or brush them to remove stuck dirts.
3- Cut potatoes and carrots to small cubes.
4- In a cooking pan put diced onions and meat, on a medium heat mix till meat turns brown.
5- Add all seasonings and mix well then pour tomato sauce and reduce heat.
6- Cook for 10 minutes.
7- In a skillet put some vegetable oil.
8- Medium fry carrots, potatoes, and other vegetables.
9- In a baking tray, spread a layer of cooked meat then put a layer of vegetables. keep adding layers of meat and vegetables but let the last layer be meat.
10- Put sliced tomato on top.
11- Bake for 30 minutes in 350 F oven.
