Calls energy savings generally only back on the discourse of renewable energy use. In fact, energy saving can be very broad implications. One of them is to start using LED (light emitting diode) and energy management solutions.

What's LED?

Energy waste is more visible in the use of fuel for vehicles stuck in traffic, or for industry. But do we, careless use of electricity in households or infrastructure, it gives the electrical load is not small.
A light emitting diode (LED) is a two-lead semiconductor light source. It is a basic pn-junction diode, which emits light when activated. When a suitable voltage is applied to the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons.
This effect is called electroluminescent, and the color of the light (corresponding to the energy of the photon) is determined by the energy band gap of the semiconductor. An LED is often small in area (less than 1 mm2) and integrated optical components may be used to shape its radiation pattern.
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when an electric current passes through it. The light is not particularly bright, but in most LED's it is monochromatic, occurring at a single wavelength.
Following the main types of LED's are miniature, high-power devices and custom designs:

  • Miniature:Photo of miniature surface mount LED's in most common sizes. They can be much smaller than a traditional 5 mm lamp type LED which is shown on the upper left corner. Very small (1.6x1.6x0.35 mm) Red, Green, Blue surface mount miniature LED package with gold wire bonding details.
  • These are mostly single-die LED's used as indicators, and they come in various sizes from 2 mm to 8 mm, through-hole and surface mount packages. They usually do not use a separate heat sink.

  • Mid-range: Medium-power LED's are often through-hole-mounted and mostly utilized when an output of just tens of Lumens are needed. They sometimes have the diode mounted to four leads (two cathode leads, two anode leads) for better heat conduction and carry an integrated lens.

  • High-power: light-emitting diodes attached to an LED star base (Luxeon, Lumileds) Solid-state lighting, LED lamp and Thermal management of high-power LED's (HPLEDs) or high-output LED's (HO-LEDs) can be driven at currents from hundreds of mA to more than an ampere, compared with the tens of mA for other LEDs. Some can emit over a thousand lumens.

The Environmentally Energy

Whereas electricity savings can be done in a simple way, such as by the use of LED (Light Emitting Diode) lights that are now widely used in major cities of the world. In Japan and other countries, the lighting in public facilities have started to switch to using LED lights that use of electricity can be saved up to 85 percent.
"This LED light produces more light but little energy," said Makamoto Mihara of Global Communications Group Panasonic Corporation. Panasonic is one of the very serious in developing LED lighting. Meanwhile in department stores, LED lights are used will provide a more natural skin color and not too yellow. Skin color also looks more beautiful that is recommended for use in cosmetics sales. "There is a wide range of lighting solutions that we offer to the needs of a diverse," he said.

Energy management

To make the implementation of energy savings that can be controlled, Panasonic also offers energy management solution called "Manage". In general manage is a combination of the use of some of the latest technologies to achieve energy savings. Using cloud technology, all energy consumption data can be seen easily in the tablet.

"With the data that has been converted into a graph, and then it become more easily regulate energy use. This application can also be used in a smartphone so that we can control the use of electrical or household appliances anywhere," As quoted from Panasonic Project Mission.

The Japanese Government to encourage energy-efficient solutions for residential, office, or public facilities. Japanese government gives subsidies for each new building that install energy-efficient equipment. "If only install equipment, such as LED lights, then the subsidy is only a third of the cost of construction, while if the developer also installing to manage, the subsidy can be up to half the cost.
Maybe it's time for the government to give support to residential or office energy efficient because of the way to encourage people to switch to equipment that is not greedy to consume energy. In the end, the electrical load is also much reduced and we also have participated reduce Global Warming.
