This weeks preview of ALL the ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP football games, weekend beginning 22nd September!

The Saturday lunchtime kick off .. Live on Sky!

After a great start to the season where Swansea suffered a few nose bleeds being so high up the Premiership table, they encountered a small hiccup last week at ASTON VILLA by going down 2-0. They still sit in the giddy heights of 4th and are back at home where they are prolific.
However, EVERTON are also flying high at the moment and were very unfortunate not to have beaten NEWCASTLE in the Monday night game having 2 very clear goals ruled out by the officials.
Players to watch out for in this game are the very exciting mighty atom flying winger NATHAN DYER of SWANSEA and LEIGHTON BAINES along with STEVEN PIENAAR operating down EVERTON's left hand side with some real cut and thrust. Also, keep an eye on MAROUANNE FELLAINI as he inevitably pops up in some great positions to muster a good handful of attempts on goal.
My prediction: Everton to nick the points and spoil Swansea's superb home form. SWANSEA 1 V 2 EVERTON.

The Saturday 3pm kick offs

Having composed this prior to Chelsea's Champions league game tonight, please excuse if I miss out anything of importance arising from said encounter.
Chelsea sit atop of the Premier league, unbeaten and only having dropped points in the London derby versus QPR last week, which was more in the headlines for the wrong reasons and could easily have had an influence in a mediocre Blues performance.
Prior to last week Chelsea had been looking dangerous up front and quite solid at the back with Torres looking like he may be returning to his best form of a couple of years back. Ivanonvic has been netting prolifically for a defender too so on the front foot they should provide Stoke with much to fret about.
However Stoke are a very physical side and will not be turned over easily, making their presence felt from the outset and the towering Peter Crouch no doubt unsettling the Chelsea defence. Look out for a possible cameo from the veteran Michael Owen too!
My prediction, Chelsea to continue their good run but not as comfortably as some may think...

Southampton sit two places above where they finished last season, but unfortunately for them that means bottom of the Premiership table!
The Saints have had a bit of a baptism of fire on their return to the Premiership, with games against ARSENAL, MAN CITY and MAN UTD, sandwiching the one game they would have targeted for points against WIGAN. Alas they still haven't acquired any points but I expect that to change soon and it could well happen against an ASTON VILLA side that can vary greatly from week to week. A decent 2-0 victory last time out against high flying SWANSEA will give them a boost but whether or not they can bolster their away form remains to be seen.
My prediction, Southampton to open their account at last!

WBA stuttered badly last weekend being on the wrong end of a 3-0 thumping at FULHAM.
This brought to a grinding halt a very good start which sees them sitting in 6th place in the table with an admirable 7 points to date.
Reading on the other hand have only mustered a single point, having a long period of non-action due to a postponed game, a re-arranged game and the international break, which was quite noticable against a vibrant TOTTENHAM last Sunday, resulting in a 3-1 home defeat.
So, this game looks very much in the balance but one would expect the home advantage to play it's part.
My prediction. WBA 2 v 1 READING

The Hammers have started life well back in the premiership with only a self imposed defeat at Swansea blighting their book. A decent 0-0 draw last week away to NORWICH was a good result, especially with the continuing absence of Andy Carroll.
Sunderland have three draws from three games and look to still be trying to find a balance after the new additions to the squad over the summer.
This should be a very close game and I don't expect it to be the most open of meetings.
My prediction WEST HAM 1 v 1 SUNDERLAND.

Wigan have been playing some exciting football and have 4 points to their name that could easily have been a few more with a little luck on their side.
Fulham have been playing either superbly or awfully so it's a toss of the coin which XI turn up this Saturday. If it's the good Fulham and BERBATOV continues in his fine form then they could give Wigan some food for thought.
A tricky one to call but my prediciton... WIGAN 1 v 2 FULHAM.

The Sunday games

The live Sunday lunchtime game throws up a mouthwatering fixture with
They don't come much bigger than this! Always a must see on the footballing calender this tie always provides plenty of action points and entertainment!
Liverpool haven't by any stretch of the imagination been firing on all cylinders, looking very weak up front in particular. On the contrary with Man Utd. After a poor first game ending in defeat versus Everton, the Red Devils have started to move through the gears and even with the missing Wayne Rooney, due to injury, have been finding the back of the net with ease. Get ready for some fireworks!!
My prediction, Liverpool to continue their miserable start LIVERPOOL 0 V 2 MAN UTD.

Neither team have been particularly performing well from the off, Newcastle have a few injuries and Norwich a new manager so this game may provide an avenue for one of these sides to start on a decent roll.
Alas, I can't see it being Norwich, with the ever volumous Toon army backing their team to the hilt and some wickedly talented players on the pitch, I see nothing more than a Magpies victory.
My prediction, a relatively easy win for Newcastle. NEWCASTLE 3 v 1 NORWICH.

Both these sides had differing fortunes last night in the Champions league.
Man City lead twice against REAL MADRID only to get beaten 3-2 in the last minute of the game with yet another strike from RONALDO, who it must be said ran MAICON ragged!
Arsenal on the other hand came from one behind to beat French champions MONTPELLIER so they will be in buoyant mood.
Defensively, Arsenal have looked quite solid so far this season too but the firepower of Man City may test them somewhat harder this Sunday. Lukas Podolski looks on fire at present and he may test a surprisingly leaky Man City defence too.
I think this will be a game to whet the appetite!!
My prediction MAN CITY 3 v 2 ARSENAL.

Tottenham off the back of a great win at Reading last week will be looking to continue their winning run against a QPR side that have looked pretty good without really causing their opponents any great damage.
Defoe looks on top form and will frighten the Rangers defence for sure, but likewise Zamora and Cisse could do the same. I think a lot will depend on what Gareth Bale turns up to this game. If it's the supreme express train down the left then I think Spurs could overpower QPR very quickly.
My prediction TOTTENHAM 3 v 1 QPR.

OK that's the lot.

Should be a great weekend of Premiership action.

Feel free to add your predictions on the comments and if there's enough interest, maybe i'll start a WikiPredictor League with 3 points for a correct scoreline and 1 point for a correct result!

Thanks Rodfather! As suggested above, if there is enough interest I shall do just that! Think we'll need a minmum of four people though
