Italian soccer, or Serie A, is widely regarded as one of Europe's best leagues. Serie A has always had world class players, and the top clubs in Italy have had some of Europe's best teams. So, these are a few of the famous Italian soccer clubs.

AC – Milan

AC – Milan are giants of the Italian game. They have been the most successful Italian club in the Champions League, having won several Champions League titles dating back to 1962. In the late '80s and early '90s AC – Milan dominated European soccer winning back-to-back European Cups. Then, in 1994 they played Barcelona in the final and won the game 4 – 0. As such, great players such as Van Basten, Guillit, and Maldini have all played for AC – Milan teams. Overall, financially they are Italy's biggest club and play at the San Siro stadium.

Inter Milan

Inter Milan are the current Serie A champions and have dominated the Italian game in recent times. Under Mancini and Mourinho the club have won the last five Serie A titles in a period of unprecedented success. Mourinho took the club to new heights in Europe also, as Inter Milan defeated Bayern Munich in the Champions League final 2 – 0 to win their first European Cup since the 1960s as part of the treble. Never relegated from Serie A, Inter Milan remain giants of the Italian game and are currently the team to beat in Italy and also Europe.

Juventus

Juventus have won the record number of Serie A titles. In this respect, the club has eclipsed both Inter and AC – Milan. In Europe the club have not won as many Champions League titles, with their '96 Champions League winning team their most recent win, although they have reached further finals since then. In addition to this, Juventus have also won other European trophies such as the UEFA Cup and Cup Winners Cup. As such, they are one of only a few clubs that have won all three of the European club trophies. However, in recent times Juventus were relegated from Serie A as a result of the club's part in Serie A match-fixing, but have since been promoted and qualified for Europe. Now they have returned to the Champions League and restored the club's former glories.

Overall, these are three of Italy's most famous clubs. The likes of AC-Milan, Inter Milan, and Juventus have all won the Champions League, and largely dominated Italian soccer. They have lots of fans both in Italy and beyond.
