The Hank Aaron State Trail is located in Milwaukee. Parts of the trail goes through the Menomonee Valley.

About The Trail

The Hank Aaron State Trail is currently a 10-mile continuous connection via dedicated trails and marked streets between the lakefront and Milwaukee's west end. The trail is suitable for bikers, skaters, walkers, runners. The trail start by the Lakeshore State Park near the Henry W. Maier Festival Grounds, winds its way through the Historic Third Ward and Menomonee River Valley, past Miller Park, and then points west by accessing the new bridge at 37th St. The Trail links to Milwaukee County’s 96-mile Oak Leaf Trail at both its east and west end, making it possible to bike from Lake Michigan, along several trails across the state, and eventually link to the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and Military Ridge State Trail.

Some of the trail is on an old Milwaukee Road line. The trail is a very beautiful trail, in which everyone who lives in this area should have a chance to experience and to enjoy.

Interpretative Signs

There are 12 interpretative signs along the trail to show about the cultural, social, industrial and natural history of the Menomonee Valley. In 2004 the MVP and Wisconsin Everyone show see the signs and to see what each one tells about that part of the trail. In 200

Throughout the this trail you can experience all the nature has to offer. With recent developments of the trail bringing the wildlife and plants back close to the way it was many 100's years ago before the settlers came and settled into this area.

The Friends of the Hank Aaron State Trail is a non for profit group dedicated to developing, promoting, and maintaining the Hank Aaron State Trail. They are also creating a long lasting legacy for future generation to enjoy and learn about the trail.

What a find my friend. Just love this. I so wish I could be there today. We had temps over 100!
