Gutters are one of the most important things to the outside of a home and protecting the inside. Collecting rainwater in a trough for whatever they needed it for, this started in the sixties. Aluminum was the first material that was for gutters, because it is sturdy, easy to assemble and cheap.

Traditional gutters will also keep well and last about 18 years. There may not need to replace the gutters, unless there is a damaging storm. Just because the gutters are seamless, may not mean it will not leak. Usually on the corners is where the leaking will happen. It could spread and cause other issues. If there are issues, fix it immediately there will be less cost and frustration later.

Following instruction on installing gutters is so important. Use a drain block on the ground so water will runoff runs away from the house. Clean gutters about twice a year or as needed. Then there is no need to replace the gutters. Gutters need to guard against the wood that rots away, paint peeling, mildew, pest problems, basements that leak, or bugs. The gutters will clog and soon cause these other issues:
• Possible fire damage
• Gutter damage issues
• Splitting seams
• Ice problems
• Tree and storm Issues
Always paint boards before installing any new gutters, if needed. Consider the easiness of installing and cleaning gutters when buying them. Also, always buy a few inches of extra length of the gutters. Understand the gutter type and to avoid those costly mistakes when installing, ask for help for measuring the length or anything else. Before starting this project, see what tools, materials that are needed. The most popular size would be 5” or the 6”. Talking to someone is important to find out the exact inches needed.
