Ubuntu is a Linux Distro made by Canonical and is the most popular Linux Distro out there. Newly Steam has released a Linux Version which now includes TF2, CSS and CS1.6. With this, Linux players have been given a free mascot for playing on linux, namely the Tux:

How To Install Ubuntu - The Simple Way

IMPORTANT: This will not work for Mac Users, for Mac users it would be advised to install the program through dual booting or a virtual machine. For a tut on dual booting, this could help

Now first of all you will require a program from Canonical called Wubi, the download for this can be found here. Once at the site choose a version of wubi to download (doesn't really matter) and download it, I however would advise the LTS version as it has the most support out there and is likely more stable than the newer version.
Once the download has finished, open the file and fill in the appropriate details. For the distribution of Ubuntu, although the other versions are fine, its just support for ubuntu is probably the greatest if something goes wrong. Now once you filled in all the details, press next and let wubi download the files.
Once these files are done loading, wubi will ask you to restart your computer, and than restart your computer, and in the startup boot menu, pick Ubuntu (or whatever your Distro is called). Once it boots, enter your password and than your in. Welcome to Linux.

Install Steam

On the side bar, press the icon for ubuntu software center. From there search up steam and install it from there. If however you have a 64 Bit system, download this file and run it through the Ubuntu Software Center. Once installed run steam and login your account and play your games on linux, including Team Fortress in which you can get your Tux.

Note: If you get a I386 Architecture error in Ubuntu Software Center, follow these instructions.
