We as Internet writers have an advantage that paperback writers do not have and that is comments! In this article I will explore how we can we help each other to become better writers with comments?

Our Moderator/Mentor’s Inspirational Series to help Wikinut Writers

Wikinut definitely has something very unique that most other writing platforms do not have. They actually Mentor their writers so that they can learn basic writing skills. In turn their writer’s articles will get more hits/views, and, more hits mean more opportunity to make money. If you want to learn just about everything there is to know about writing read Peter Giblett’s Inspirational Series!

On the bottom of the page on “Writing and Relevance to your audience” are listed Peter’s other outstanding articles in this series.

Point Out the Good

Good things said about us help us to soar like the eagle!! I know I have been there and done that!! For years I did nothing with my music all because I came from an overly critical family. I know that I am not a professional now and have a long way to come, but, at least I am giving it a go!!

When you start making comments on a writer’s article with whom you just started to follow, it is important to point out the good things in their article. This will inspire the writer to keep on writing and give them more confidence. Unless you are an authority on writing you really don’t have the credentials to criticize. The world is full of critics but lacking in those who really have the qualifications. First you need to make your new fan feel comfortable. Like Dr. Phil says it may take 100 to 1000 atta boys to erase one cruel hurtful comment.

Also remember that when you point out the good this will inspire that person to keep writing and they will also give you positive feedback when you are feeling down. In this cold impersonal world that we live in it really warms the heart and soul to hear something good at the end of the day.

When to point out a mistake

I feel that after you and the other writer have exchanged several comments back and forth, then it could be time to not just point out the good but if you see a pattern that you feel should be changed for their sake in order to help them become a better writer, perhaps you should speak up. However, I would take much time before doing that because sometimes people are more sensitive then what one would think.

Don’t antagonize just because you can

I have seen many ridiculous comments on the Internet that really have nothing to do with the content they are commenting about. Some people just love the power they think they have to hurt another person with cruel comments. Just remember that behind every article is a person just like you who is trying very hard to make an infinitesimal amount of money with their articles. They are human just like you and God loves them as much as He does you.

How to gently point out a pattern or mistake!

I would suggest that a writer first should ask their fans/fellow writers if they think they should change something. This way you are opening the door! Later, ask them if they would like you to offer suggestions as to what they could improve upon!

Reading other writers pages will give us ideas on what we can write about!

I cannot count the times when I simply did not feel like writing. Then after reading an article from one of my fellow writers/fans an idea suddenly hit me! In that light bulb moment it dawned on me that I do have something that I can contribute. I would have never had that bit of inspiration if I would not have read something that was written by a fellow writer. Also, when that happens I want to include or embed the link to their article so that they can get the credit for inspiring me. Yes! We can be just like one big happy family if we learn to value each other as we should!

What about the Wikinut Writer?

Wikinut only requires that your article contain at least 300 words or more! Exactly how much more? That is a good question! Some articles are just too big and cumbersome to read in one sitting without printing them out to read in a relaxed setting. On the other hand, it is hard for poetry to be long enough to merit a Star. However, I have seen it done by Cnwriter!

That being said, I have a problem with always trying to get Star Pages because I end up not submitting my poetry. Also, many times I have come up with ideas on what to write but just did not have the time to find pictures. Perhaps I am trying too hard and including too many pictures in my articles. I too need to read all of the articles written by Peter Giblett that help us to learn better writing skills.

Well, I don’t want to digress too much because this article is supposed to be about writers inspiring each other.

If you do not have software like Microsoft word that tells you while you are writing how many words your article contains, I would like to inform you that thus far this article contains 920 words, and, that was without even trying. Wow!! Did I do that? I guess I can quit now!!

In conclusion! I truly hope that we can learn to inspire each other along the way so that we will see better content on the Internet. This way folks will not get discouraged with all the junk on the Internet when they try to Google some type of information. Also, by writing better quality articles we will help our economy with more pay for hard working writers.

The beauty of writing is seen when the dream you cherish within you comes to life and becomes the guide to who and what you want to be. That's the moment your spirit soars high like an eagle to touch the heavens above to bring a cascade down on Planet Earth that enhances what you want to portray to the world. That is the essence of a writer, its how we express ourselves to the world that creates the Ripple and then the Wave of inspiration that takes the Universe by storm thereby bringing in the Immortality that never fades away.

It is always a challenge for writers to have time to write as well as to take the time to read what others have written.
I too applaud Peter for his positive works.

We should try to inspire each other rather than throw insults around if only said to create hate.

A fine piece of writing. You have made valid points. However, if some reader points out a few glaring mistakes, the writer should take it positively as constructive criticism. You are at liberty to point out any mistakes in my works. Otherwise I'd be under a false impression I am faultless. It will not help me grow as a writer.

Thank you for your comment! You are right of course but we still have to be careful that our criticism is not just our own opinion but that it really will help the other writer....or you may end up making an enemy for life.

I would have to say that in these past few months when I have been writing I have grown tremendously, of course I still make mistakes, but it is learning from them that sometimes pains yet always educates. Learn and grow because of your experience and you will become better.

Thank you Peter for your comment!! I can't wait to finish reading all the articles in your series. I wonder if there is a link that we can access all of the articles in your series. Then after reading one we can go back to that link and read another. There probably is but I most likely missed it. Thanks again for helping us to become better writers!

That is why I enjoy writing for wikinut because of the moderators. As I don't have education behind me to do writing by the help of the moderators they have helped me greatly. Thanks for sharing your article.
