How to Build Backlinks with Forums

Using online forums is a great way to build back links to your blog and boost your page rank in major search engines. They are also a great way to promote products that you're selling with affiliate marketing, or to get referrals for other earning programs online.

Online forums are basically discussion places for a variety of different topics. Certain forums over revenue sharing, through Adsense or the like, but these forums tend to be full of spam and won't actually earn you very much money. Forums are a great way to earn money, but they should not be your primary earners, rather a place to promote work you've done and share your experience and opinion with others.

Forums will help improve web traffic to your blog or help promote a service or site that you could possibly profit from by building back links. Most forums support signatures, links that are put into user's forum posts and replies, which can lead to pretty much anything. Most users use these signatures to build up some minor traffic to blogs or websites, but the real benefits comes from the boosts to page rank, which can generate long term search engine traffic. If you add links to your personal blog in your signature, and have enough posts on the forum, your blog will rise in page rank and appear higher in search engines, driving more traffic to your website.

You will probably have to look around a bit to find a forum that fits what you want to talk about. If it's straight up blogging, there are literally hundreds of forums to choose from. Personally, I prefer Digital Point, simply because it covers every single aspect of earning online, as well as having a large user base, many of which is experienced. I include my referral link to a popular writing site in my signature, and post threads about sites and posts that I've written. I also try to offer advice about things that I'm knowledgeable about in order to give back to the site, and that, in truth, is the key to effectively using forums. Don't use forums simply to build traffic or back links. Instead, forums should be used for the purpose that they were made for; sharing information. Post links in your signatures, and become an active member in discussions to create a substantial benefit for your blog or website.
