Craw Fish

Catching crawfish by hand isn't very hard to do at all really, but you do have to know some things about doing it. Crawfish make great bait for catching bass and catfish as well. I'm sure your thinking I'm a bit nutty at the moment, only because crawfish have claws, lol.

Have no fear when attepting to snatch a crawfish by hand, although your going to trip out the first time you catch one. One most important thing to remember is patience. Find a crawfish mound, they look like small towers of mud, usualy in damp areas. when you've found one, remove the dome, dig the hole out 3-4 inches, big enough to put all 4 fingers in there. If the hole is dry get some water and fill it up. Wait 5 minutes, if you do not see any whiskers then stir the water really well with your hand.

Then it is just a matter of time before you see the crawfish's whiskers. When you see the whiskers waving back and forth at the top of the water, reach down in there and scoop the crawfish out with your hand. Don't worry about it penching you, it will be in a state of shock. When you pull it out of the hole, drop it on the ground next to the hole. The craw fish is going to be mad after that and want to pench you.

If you want to keep the crawfish simply find somthing to put it in with some water. Next i the tricky part, picking up the crawfish after you have it out of the hole. Just grab it near the back on it's shell where it can't reach you with it's claws, using only you're thumb and index finger. That's it, happy crawfish snatching!
