Blogging has been known to be profitable, however most people who earn a good income from blogging have numerous blogs. How do they ever manage to keep up with them all.

Blogging for Money

There are several sites where bloggers can apply to write blog posts, but most writers choose to have their own niche blogs that they can have affiliate links and ad income on the site. This enables bloggers to make money writing about a topic of their choice. Ad revenue and affiliate income is a slow process unless someone happens to choose a blog topic that is really hot and gets lots of page views from the beginning. This means that a person who is blogging for money isn't going to make a living on one blog. Because it can take up to 2 years to see a significant amount of readers and revenue flow many bloggers have several blogs that bring in a little bit each month.

If you are interested in becoming a blogger who earns money be sure to read this article about how to monetize your blog.

Scheduling Blog Posts

The difficult part of maintaining numerous blogs is scheduling blog posts so that each blog is updated at a regular interval. For example if you have "foodie" blog, a gardening blog, and a photography blog. It is important that your faithful readers have something new to read when they come back week after week. With a new blog it is advised that you should try to post at least every weekday (Mon.-Fri.) for the first month. Then you can schedule one blog to be updated on Monday, another on Wednesday and the last one on Friday. This allows you to spread out the topics which will keep you from getting bored and burnt out on each blog.

Choosing topics that will make money and keep you interested can be a challenge. Just click here to read about how to choose a blog topic.

Keeping up with More Than a Few Blogs

I know of bloggers who have 20 or more blogs on different topics. This means that each day of the week they probably update 2 or more blogs in order to have a regular posting interval for each blog. This is not difficult to do as long as you are organized and keep a strict schedule for your blogs. Even if you are a freelance writer and have to spend time each day writing articles for money you can usually fit in 15 to 20 minutes each day to post blog updates.

Blog Options to Offer

There are a lot of features that are offered on the Free Google Blogger site including Facebook share, UpTweet, and follow or subscribe. This enables your readers to help spread the word about your great blog and to know when you post so they don't miss a thing. I haven't checked out other blogging platforms, because Blogger meets my needs. I can place advertising on it, my readers can comment, I can add a blogroll of all the blogs I follow and many other options that make it easy to make each blog I have unique.

What Make a Profitable Blog?

Profitable blogs are blogs which have several followers, comments, links back to the blog from other sites, and posts which fill a need. Whether it is a solution to a problem, educating readers on your topic or simply providing entertainment. No matter what sort of affiliate links or advertising you have on your blogs, if you don't have readers you aren't making money. It's that simple! So if you are looking to make money by owning numerous blogs keep up with them, post regularly and offer your readers something they won't find on any other blog...You! Write your posts as if you are talking to your friends and your personality and passion for your topic will shine through.

I know someone who has 76 blogs that she works full time and updates twice a week each. She says it only takes about 10 minutes to update each of them, but it takes a little longer to update the affiliate links and answer comments, so all totalled, she works 40 hours a week on all 76 of them. I've often thought that if I could build up enough residual income, I'd love to do that.

sounds about right, you have to be willing to keep on updating but linking takes a lot longer.

Thanks, Suz. It's so easy to get discouraged when you don't see immediate results.

Deborah that would be my dream job- to make a living writing about what I want, whether it is blogs, websites or ebooks. But it can be discouraging and it does take time to get to that point. I'm working towards my future.

I only have one blog and it's not monetize.
That's a lot of work to update all the time.
