Find out what to do in case of being trap alone in the middle of the desert or sinking ship without any food. The following techniques could help you live longer and avoid being victim of starvation.

Key phrase: Find water!

To survive starvation in case you are trapped from a collapse building during earthquakes or fatal sea tragedy such as the sinking of ships finding yourself alone in a middle of salty ocean without food or clean water.

There is a less chance of survival without drinking water since it is very deadly to drink salt water is not advisable. According to an expert it is hard to survive even with a crumbs of food if you could not find water the survival rates is very slim.

Though the good thing it water could be everywhere even when you don’t see it. There a way of getting water by following these tips;

Emergency Preparation

1. Take extra clothes you have and spread them on the ground or hang them on trees on high places inside the trapped building. When night come it become a dew collectors and voila! In the morning you could have clear glass of water.

2. In case of being trap in the center of salty water. Do the same things or better if you have a plastic bag place them wide as it would accumulates moisture forming water. You could sip the water little by little until the rescuer found you. Never attempt to drink salty water it would only cause your earlier death.

3. If you come across bamboo trees, you could get ample water from it as it reserves enough water from its trunk.

4. If you find yourself trap alone in the desert and the oasis of water is nowhere to found. You need to do the same things hang your cloth on a high tree or high ground to collect dewdrops. You could find desert plants such as cactus as good sources of moisture and you could drink it gelatinous substances as very safe.

5. If you find yourself trap in the middle of mountainous winter such as what happened in the movie Alive. You have no choice, but eat raw food just to survive starvation. But still better if you could find clear water.

Now that you already collected a handful of water and you still doubt your rescuer could find you easily.

6. You need to just dab the water in your lips not drinking at all. This would aid in regular dehydration and to moisturize you're dry lips. Although you still feel hungry and pain as the feeling almost close to death. Don't lose hope and pray that the rescuer would be able to found you quickly.

7. If you are trapped alone in the forest the best sources of nutritious meal would be no other than earthworms. Even though this kind of delicacy sounds yucky you need to be patience to eat it in order to survive than to die of starvation.

Mass starvation

In case of mass starvation which a very threat to the existence of humanity as everyone could fight for their life even wanting to kill just to survive that is a very difficult scenario. You could survive by being selfish by not sharing your food or else resort to cannibalism in order to survive which I am not going to advice when there is other alternatives to do without hurting one another.

Mostly famine happen during war because of the scarcity of food. With help of other country I do hope they continue to help those facing global crisis when it comes to food. As an individual you could help other people through donation or joining volunteer group such as World food program to help eradicate food scarcity.

If you have a container; dig a hole and put it in the center and your clothes over the hole, with a little sink right over the container. The dew will collect in the container and you can drink it.

Do as wide a whole as your clothing allows. By morning you could have even six ounces of drinkable water.
