This is about how you can mix up bright colors in your house, and not go overboard. And still use muted or pastel colors.

walls and what is considered traditional and what is possible to do with bright colors

A lot of people think that when they are painting their walls, they should put walls in beige, tan, white, champagne. But the problem is you might detest light colors. What if your favorite color is lime green?
Bright bold colors are involved and not the easiest in which to decorate. But you are able to do it.But Brian Patrick Flynn says you can use them, but carefully. Flynn says, " It's a game of balance. Once you get that right, just about any color can be spectacular."
I will tell you what Flynn and designers Kyle Schuneman of Live Well Designs and Betsy Burnham of Betsy Burnham Designs say how you can decorate with bright colors.
Flynn often has clients that want a bright color, but are not sure if they want it. Flynn explains, that he "has them consider, two shades lighter or less saturated than the one their iffy about." And, "Nine times out of 10, they end up getting the effect , but without the color becoming too saturated to live with."

pastel colors on walls and how not to use them

Don't use four different colors of pastels on your walls, either. Don't use light pink, light yellow, and light peach and light blue as it would negate the effect of a soft room..It would also be quite dull. You can paint the walls three the same color of pastel. Then make the fourth wall a dark color. For example, Medicine Girl's bedroom is pale peach, and she has a border that is dark maroom on top of the dogs and the bottom. It looks lovely.

How to use lime green without overdoing it.

Schuneman says he was able to use lime green with muted colors. His client loved lime green and wanted it in her dining room. For three walls he didn't use lime green, instead used a sage green , but put wallpaper in a lime green on one wall. His client will be able to enjoy her lime green but not become overpowered by it.
Burnham says, " orange next to screaming lime green , next to fuchsisa, doesn't belong in a grown-up space."

Decorations as a choice for bright color instead of walls.

You can still put color on your walls. If you go traditional and paint them white, you can add a colorful afghan, made out of bright colored thread. Or, put out a colorful vase. You could also, if you have hard wood floors, use a throw rug of a bright color.
