If you find a page on Wikinut really useful or enjoyable, chances are you may want to read other pages by that same author. If so, you should use our follow author feature.

What following means

There are loads of great authors writing on Wikinut, and it can be easy to miss their new pages. So we designed a follow feature that allows you to keep an eye on any recent work by authors that you've chosen to monitor.

You need to be logged-in to Wikinut before you can follow authors.

If you don't have a Wikinut account, you can register here.

Once you're logged in, any recent pages by authors that you're following will appear in your right hand menu in a section entitled Authors you follow - you can see an example of this in the image to the right.

You can hover over these thumbnails for a quick summary of the page, and then click them to read the full page.

How to follow an author

Following an author is simple, and can be done in 2 different ways. Firstly, if you are reading a page you'll see the author's details at the top.

Next to their name and the page published date you'll see a Follow this author link - just click this to follow them. Note that you'll need to be logged-in to do this.

You can see that you're following an author, as the follow link will be replaced by a Stop following option, which is what you click to break the connection.

The second way to follow an author is to visit their public profile page, and next to their photo you'll see the same follow options. These can be used in exactly the same manner as described above.

I'm an author, how do I know who's following me?

When somebody follows you, a reward of 5 nutpoints will be added to your account. The opposite happens if they stop following you - your nutpoints will drop by 5. You can see all this by looking at your nutpoint report.

Your followers can be seen by looking at your public profile page - if you have at least one follower there'll be a link to a page that lists them. You can see this link in the image to the right.

Don't worry if you don't have any followers just yet - new readers visit the site everyday and anyone of them could be your next fan!
