You can create zones within your home which you should get rid of the clutter in less than a month. The zones might include the kitchen, living room, study room, bedrooms among others.

Get together your tools

Before you start the decluttering exercise, you should make sure that you have enough boxes, bin bags, a marker for labeling the boxes and a few sheets of paper. After you have gotten the boxes and bin bags, the next step for you to take is to label them as “Donate to charity, “Discard” and “Keep”

Allocate a given time to declutter each zone or room

You should start get rid of clutter from zones or rooms which have a few items and do the zone or room with the most clutter last. The best approach for you to take is to divide your zones into weeks given the time frame which is less than a month means that you have limited time to clear the clutter.

For example, if you have three zones to clear then you should allocate one week for each zone and get rid of all unwanted items in your home.

Start clearing the clutter!

Choose an appropriate time of the day to start clearing each respective rooms or zones and start the process of decluttering your home. Carry the label boxes and bin bags into the room or zone which you are going to declutter and start sorting the items. Make sure that you open all the windows in the house for the flow of fresh air and avoid getting flu from sorting dusty items that have been in storage for ages!

The process of sorting items for donating to charity, discarding and keeping should be an easy one since you are the owner of the items. You definitely know what you would like to get rid and what you would like to keep for future use.

Be disciplined

Unless you have certain sentimental attachments to particular items, it is advisable for you to get rid of items which you no longer need or use and enjoy a clutter free home. You should convince yourself why it is important for you to let go of certain items especially if they not necessarily have any sentimental value to you but are only taking up space in your home.

Don’t cling onto an old dress just because you like the style or color yet you no longer wear it give it away as donation and allow someone else to make good use of it.

Stick to your schedule

Because of the limited time given to you to declutter your home in less than month it is crucial for you to be disciplined enough to make sure that you clear each zone or room as scheduled without any delays.

Maintain orderliness

It is advisable for you to maintain orderliness when you are decluttering your home. Avoid throwing items all over the floor, you should be patient and clear the clutter in a more organized manner without creating extra work for yourself of cleaning up.

Go through the piles one more time

It is advisable for you to go through the piles one more time especially the “donate to charity” and “discard” pile just to make sure that you are not getting rid of an item which you might need in future.
