How to make a Christmas poinsettia centerpiece

Materials needed to make a Christmas Poinsettia centrepiece:

Strong card: colours red, green, brown, purple and yellow

Christmas themed sticker

Here are the Instructions of what I did when I made my Christmas Poinsettia centrepiece:

I first looked at a photograph of a poinsettia flower. I then designed a flower pot, folding half a pentagon over in two, gluing it together using purple card. At the top of the flower pot I used brown card and drew a large circle with a slit in the centre for the stalk to act as the earth and attached it to the surround. At the base I drew a smaller circle and attached it to the of the flower pot using glue.

Then I took the green card and made a stalk by rolling the card and gluing it when it is in a strong tube form. I then placed it into the slit in the brown card.

Next I had to design the leaves and the flower leaves using red and green card. I drew 4 small red leaves and 4 large red leaves, as well as four medium size red leaves. You can add red glitter glue to the red leaves.

I then began to glue them to the stalk starting with the large red leaves, medium and then small red leaves. Making sure that when I arranged them they were not all together and that they were facing four different directions at different angles.

I then added the green leaves as a last resort at the middle part of the stalk.

To finish I then used three very small and thin yellow strips to stick onto the very top of the stalk. I added orange glitter to the very edges of the yellow strips to give a different colour tone.

You can decorate the flower pot by sticking a Christmas theme sticker to it. You can give this away as a present or put it onto your fireplace, or Christmas table.

It takes approximately one to two hours to make.

These poinsettia flowers centre pieces can be sold at Christmas craft fairs. There are many craft shops that sell these products to help you make this flower. I used my local craft shop in my town to buy the card and the glitter. I used glitter glue as it is easier to apply if you do not like mess.

However many people have different ways of making Poinsettia flower center pieces, I have only given you one idea. There are many blogs and websites on the Internet that can help you further if you wish to expand on making this.
