The biggest challenge for most people is how to pull of the wall paper without damaging the wall. There are several methods that you can use to remove it without damaging your wall. These include, spraying with chemicals or steaming it depends on what you think will work best for you.

Most people lack the knowledge of how to strip wallpaper, according to Gerald Bishop the owner of Wallcoverings and Fresno Wallpaper Design Warehouse in Fresno in California " It is not that difficult, but it takes a lot of patience, and there is an art to stripping wallpaper"

The method which you choose to use to remove the wallpaper largely depends on the product. There some types of wallpaper that can be stripped dry while some need to be removed using a solution.

The damage on the wall, when the wallpaper is being removed will also depend on how the wallpaper was installed.
For example, if the wall was not sealed with a primer before putting the wallpaper, them removing it can cause damage to the wall's texture.

The steamer method is no longer popular, most people prefer to use the remover solution when removing the wallpaper. When you use the steamer method you may scald your hands in the process, and it takes much longer to strip off the wallpaper unlike when you use the remover solution method.

You can use a remover solution that is mixed with water. The solution helps to dissolve the adhesive wallpaper backing which makes it much easier to remove. You will need the right tools to do the job well.

Tools needed
1-2 three to six inch broad knives
A ladder
A scoring tool
A garden sprayer such as a two gallon plastic pump
A plastic sheet to cover the floor or carpet
DFI Zinsser ( remover agent)

Take down the outlet covers and mix the DFI Zinsser solution and hot water together, shake well for a uniform mixture. Cover the garden sprayer and test a small area of the wall by spraying the remover solution on the edge of the wallpaper.

Lift the edge of the wallpaper and determine the grain of the wall and see what direction to the wallpaper should be stripped. You can strip it left to right or up and down depending on the grain.

Follow the grain the wall when stripping off the wallpaper.
If the wallpaper does not come easily, then add some more spray and let it to soak for sometime before trying again to strip it off. Once the remover solution has soaked properly, then it should be much easier for you to remove the wallpaper.
