Is the apparent existence of duality within oneness just an illusion?

Most of us would have no doubt of the reality of the nature of our dual world.

We experiences many opposites here, hot and cold, up and down, positive and negative, for example. Seemingly then, there is duality within oneness.

Are we seeing reality as it really is though?

This article argues that we are not.

We must drop our duality into the ocean of oneness. We must stop thinking that the waves that we are making on its surface are real.

Are there two sides of oneness's one coin, or not?

If oneness is only oneness, what is duality?

Is it also then just a part of our own dualism that enables us to ask this question of whether oneness really does exist or not, then too?

Oneness is the combined "allity" of it all.

Duality is a separation within oneness taken on by consciousness which is an added on factor or field around oneness in which it (oneness) can see itself being reflected back to itself within.

This set-up is not duality though.

Duality exists only when the mirror looks at oneness from itself, and then thinks that it separately exists when the truth is that it is a mere smokescreen of nothingness that shadows oneness as a cloak that it wears when it really wants to be itself within itself.

Oneness becomes self-conscious of itself when it owns this mirror, from its separated creative parts not keeping themselves within oneness, but then this is really just an enigmatic mis-representional viewing of itself from its broken off parts, or from the cracks in the mirror, and this is not really the real picture of itself at all.

The self-consciousness is only within the cracks of the mirror or within the parts not owing themselves within oneness, but in reality they never can leave oneness, and so in this way the picture is always a complete one.

Oneness only becomes self-conscious within this separated shadow of itself. It feels this but waits for the so-called deluded part to recover from its attachment to duality, rather than ever trying to force it to come back.

Oneness loves all of itself despite what smoke any so-called separated chimney is blowing from its own small fire which it thinks is itself.

The oneness of duality. The seeming duality of oneness

"Realization is not about you, the wave, realizing it is ocean. The ocean realizes itself in you and reveals itself to have never been just a wave. Nothing changes except the falling away of a false belief."

This quote is from Enza Vita, an Australian, (although born in Sicily) spiritual teacher and author. She wrote the bestselling book titled, "Always Already Free".

Funnily enough, she says that we can reach enlightenment from two directions.

She claims that you can either discover the truth of who you are, or conversely, you can try to ascertain what you are really not by discovering, I suppose she means, what is not the truth about yourself.

Both approaches work.

She backs up her reasoning here by something that the more well-known Indian spiritual master, Nisargadatta Marahaj, (1897 to 1981) once said.

"You can either push the cart, or pull the cart. Both are fine as long as you keep the cart rolling!"

Awareness, and its role in our enlightenment

Awareness grows from love when you are loving consciously as well as unconsciously. You must not block love from any direction, and only then are you fully aware from all directions then too.

Awareness builds from love like love waters the plants in your garden, and yet the water and the plants are all part of the same world.

One lends itself to the other and this is what sharing and love is all about, the connective growth of oneness through its parts connectively growing by their being connected back together again from this bond of love.

You can only realise who you are by taking back your own place within oneness. Only you can do this, nobody can give you back to yourself, but you.

"When you know that you are nothing more than what you are, you will see that you are everything within that everything too."

This sounds good, but what is this idea missing, if anything?

Actually, the great Greek philosopher Socrates, (469 BC to 399 BC) said something very similar to this, when he said this:

"To know, is to know that you know nothing. That is the meaning of true knowledge."

The oneness of everything lives also within the nothing of nothing.

This is what true duality means because oneness is nothing when nothing is left outside of oneness to compete with it as you.

Dropping all of your old self into oneness then leaves you with nothing left of your old self, but you will then be including all of oneness within your new self then too.
