Once again, Ohio State is playing for the Big 10 title against Michigan. Too bad that Michigan isn't in the title race, or we would have another great OSU-UM game. But... it is still Beat Michigan Week!

The Game

Regardless of how Michigan stands this weekend, Ohio State still has to beat them in order to win the Big 10 title. Yes, it is Beat Michigan Week. And yes, even though the result of the upcoming Ohio State-Michigan game is most likely going to be a lopsided result in the Buckeye's favor, the traditions of Beat Michigan Week are still very much alive. And The Game is still very much an epic battle between two amazing schools every year.

The Game (The Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Michigan Wolverines) is THE regular season college football game that you have to see every year. The rivalry is ranked by ESPN as the number one rivalry in the world of sports. That is special.

Every year, the Thursday before The Game, thousands, yes I said thousands, of Ohio State fans gather on campus to dive into the freezing cold waters of Mirror Lake. 12,000 fans showed up for the jump in 2009. It has been a tradition since 1990.

Although Ohio State is about to win another Big 10 championship, and Michigan is tied for seventh in the Big 10 standings, The Game is still something to look forward to. It has a huge tradition, just like the rich, grand tradition of the teams that battle it out each year on the gridiron.

um no.. its BEAT OHIO WEEK.

I may be living in Canada, but I am from Michigan, and although not a sports fan there are some nostalgic ties to home, and a desire for them to win.
