Better to resist the temptation to utter every thought that comes to mind. Also do not attend every argument that you are invited to.

Pause To Think Before Saying Something That Is Likely To Destroy A Desired Relationship

Because of the general principle of sowing and reaping ~ a person who guards his mouth preserves his life.

But ~ those who open wide their lips shall have destruction. This is based on Our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love in the Thirteenth Chapter of Proverbs.

Fill your mind with positive thoughts. Then allow your Creator God to help you take the edge off by making statements of positive affirmation before starting to criticize.

What Good Is It To Win A Small Battle Yet Lose The War?

Make it a point to be humble and kind. Take your mind off yourself. Your Creator God will keep you in perfect peace when your mind is stayed on Him

Trust Him ~ and do good. Dwell in the land ~ and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in Him ~ and ~ He'll give you the desires of your heart that He put there.

Consider Doing Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You

Our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love tells us this in Matthew 7

You should ~ Judge not ~ that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge ~ you will be judged; and with the measure you use ~ it will be measured back to you.

And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye ~ but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite!

First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Great advice, I have always loved the Golden Rule. As a mother I often let my son that one as my mother did to me. God Bless!!!!

I am so grateful dear Helen for the help of the Holy Spirit when it comes to controlling my emotions .
I am always so sorry when I don't keep a check on my tongue and let my emotions get the better of me ...but there are some things that make me sad and angry at the injustice in this world and I tend to let it show how I feel ..
I guess it is knowing when to be passive or otherwise .
Thank you for this post and ....
God bless you always as you follow and serve Him

Thank you for this very wise and powerful message! We must always stop, think and pray before saying something that we cannot take back. God Bless!!

Yes ~ Judy Ellen ~ pausing to think before speaking is crucial. Not an easy lesson to learn. We simply must keep trying until we automatically pause to think and pray more before responding to issues, reports, and complaints.

Abundant Blessings.

Thanks for your comments

Watching our words is the better option than shooting our mouths off. We have to walk a mile in others' shoes to know where they come from.

It is wiser not to say something unless we have a clear opinion. Some words cut through sharper than a knife and the latter wound heals but the former can fester.

Thanks Helen for sharing timeless wisdom - siva

So true ~ peachpurple. Much patience is required. Here is something that can also be especially helpful in controlling the emotions:

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

This is from Colossians 3:15 in Our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love.

Thanks for your comments. Richest Blessings.
