There is a Legend among people of great spirituality that we are giving many spiritual names throughout one lifetime. Some of these names are known to all and some are only known to the person that was giving them. Here is the legend of spiritual names.

First Spiritual Name

One usually gets the first spiritual name at the age of seven. The age of seven is believed to be the time when each body gets its soul. The first spiritual name given to a child is usually the last spiritual name of someone close to them; a parent, grandparent, or relative of some kind. In most case it is usually the grandmother or grandfather that give the child their name.

Unknown names

Throughout one’s lifetime there is much spiritual growth. In these different stages of spiritual growth, it is thought that a person gets different names from different spirit guides. These names are only known to the person and their spirit guides and guardians. These names are apart of the person’s spiritual growth progress.

Known names

Known names are names that the person chooses to let the world know are their spiritual names. Revealing these names is a personal chose. It depends on the person if they wish to reveal these names to others or not. Some people chose to keep all of their spiritual name a secret and other chose to let the world know, the names that their spirits have gifted them.

Last spiritual name

The last and thought to be the most important spiritual name is given between the ages of forty and fifty years old. When one gets their last spiritual name they are thought to be an older. They have gain much wisdom and knowledge in their lives. They are now able to pass on the knowledge they have gained. The person usually chooses their own final spiritual name for this lifetime.

My adopted daughter, Amy, prefers to be known by her spiritual name: Ek Mau. She says it means 'black cat'.

Intriguing article, Brendamarie.

I wonder why do we place such importance on names.

God told Adam to give names to all of the creatures he created, but I guess it was God that named Adam.

King James 2000 Bible, Genesis 5 :2

“Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.”

We give such an emphasis of importance to our names because in a way it defines us, and who we are, I suppose.

Our name matches our spiritual growth in its eloquence, which means in its sound and vibrational energy make-up.

We all want a unique sounding name, because we are all unique.

I read just today in the Reader’s Digest that people search the internet for uncommon/unique names for their children, for example, these days.

Musings from Spirited's comment.

There is a joke - the easy way to increase the price of food/snack is to give it a French sounding name!

Now I know why know why some have French sounding names too though they look, well, like me - they search the internet! siva

Brenda Marie, thanks for sharing your article. This is the first time I've ever heard of spiritual names. I do find it fascinating but to my knowledge I only have the one name. Smiles to you today and always.
