The Gita is the sermon by the Lord Krishna on the battlefield at Kurukshetra. I's a divine book with great wisdom

The Gita is the Epitome of Wisdom

Einstein added a 4th dimension to man’s thinking. He brought in the concept of time in Physics, but Man has always understood the concept of time and we usually relate it to the past. The past is an event that has happened and can never be reconstructed again. The Gita talks of past in a philosophical way It says that past will never come back and man should learn lessons from the past and move ahead.
Memory and the Past
. The human mind however is a complex mechanism and memory plays a very important part in a man’s life. Thus the past remains in our thoughts and many times we are conditioned in our future actions by what we have experienced in the past. This is the danger and the Gita points out that the past must never be allowed to condition the future. A man must move forward and not be shackled by what happened in the past.
The Past Conditions the Mind
Unfortunately most men are conditioned to act by what happened in the past. Most of the issues that shackle us are vestiges from the past. We are unable to shed the load. Man has a sensitive mind and thus he becomes a prisoner of the past and is constrained by perceived hurts which many will not forget.
This also applies to nations which are made up of men and women. The past haunts and conditions the present and the future. An example is the feud between China and japan which is rooted in the past.
The Past and Personal Life
What about our personal life. Man is apt to dwell in the past and much condition their approach to what happened earlier in their lives. The Gita warns against this danger. Man should not allow himself to become a prisoner of the past. One can draw lessons but one must also forget and move forward. The world is a beautiful place and it will be sad if a man's actions are conditioned by what happened in the past. Thus revenge and giving back what you got is a danger, that must be obviated
Ego
The core of the problem is ego and it applies to men and nations in equal measure. This is the quality that must be controlled. Lord Krishna has demonstrated that ego has no place in the world. His is the sublime example as in the Mahabharata he became a chariot driver of Arjuna though he was a great warrior and God. He did not stand on ego.
It is for man to take the next step so that he can break free from the clutches of the past and then one will realize that the best is yet to come.

Thanks Madan for beautifully explaining the gist of wisdom contained in Gita. We forget the basics as we allow ourselves to be dictated by ego, pride and greed - siva

Interesting article. The law of karma plays on us.We are born with our past attached and have to deal with the situation we are put into.Karma can put us into difficult situation but this can be adjusted by the Gods grace of remedies prescribe through the Vedas eg. graha shanti etc which is to make our lives easier but not to forget that we have to produce good actions in order to improve our lives, future births, moksa etc.For every action there's a reaction.Vedic/Tantic texts have reminded us that certain actions may not be avoidable so the prescription of pooja to be offered on a daily, monthly or yearly in order to santify this action so that we don't have a reaction. If there's action with no reaction then there's liberation,no need for rebirth. But its easier said than done and it might take centuries...

The current trend is the fifth dimensional being which uses the Super Ego to learn what is in their own soul life's repository. This is what brings about the facts and figures of the life your lead as its all collected and connected to a Single Point of Contact, creation and from Creation the Keeper of Life who owns the library of Knowledge of both good and evil called the Tree of Life. Its not Kabbalistic but more a knowledge base that there are always two sides to a coin and what you choose is what you become because of the knowledge base within the Super Ego.

They can only touch their own repository to create their own design of life. Only the Ones of Creation or the Gods have access to it all....
