A short story about the mysterious Jersey Devil. Is it real?

Is it real?

In 1909 more than one thousand residents of Pennsylvania and Delaware saw the Devil. The devil appeared several times during each succeeding decade. One of the amazing stories about this devil is when On January 19, 1909, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Evans heard the sound of the large animal which awakened them in the early morning. This huge animal was on the roof of their shed and was about 3.5 feet high with a face like a collie and a head like a horse. Its wings were about 2 feet long, legs were like crane, had horse's hooves and had a long neck.

In the same week, when Mrs.J.H, White was taking clothes off her line noticed a strange creature huddled in the corner of her yard. She screamed and fainted. Her husband rushed out the back door. His wife was on the ground and the Devil was spurting flame. She chased the huge devil monster with clothesline and it jumped over the fence and disappeared.
