What is the Naga Fireballs? Where does it occur? What happens?

The Phenomenon

The phenomenon of Naga Fireballs which occurs in the River Mekong in Thailand’s Nong Khai province and Laos’s capital Ventiane which border this river on its two sides. This is considered as a super-natural event in which glowing balls of fire quickly rise above the water and then go high up in the air about 100 to 200 meters from the water level. These balls appear yellow-red in colour and are of different sizes ranging from small scintillating sparkles of light to as large as basket ball sized flaming balls. The whole view of the Fireballs rising at night from the rivers is very beautiful with hues of romance which attract a great crowd from the world over. The rising and disappearing of the fireballs generally takes place silently without any sort of noise, however some who succeeded to get closer to light balls mentioned the hearing of soft hushing type of sound. This display of rising glow balls receives a grand response from the mammoth audience with’ oohs’ and ‘aahs’ type of cheering.
