Visit the Town of Mediums where Serenity, Talking with the Dead & Ghosts Walks are a Way of Life

Imagine a spirit world existing in Small-town, America where you are immediately uplifted the moment you cross the town line. Everyday life is positive and the gifted people of the community work and live in harmony. It is not fantasy, it is a way of life, and you are invited to experience this unique and healing path of virtue by exploring Lily Dale, New York yourself. The Lily Dale assembly proudly displays a sign representing it to be "the world's largest center for the religion of spiritualism", despite the town having a abnormally small population of just 275 citizens year round. The community is located within the town of Pomfret, found in the southwestern corner of New York next to Cassadaga Lake that is well known for psychic mediums, clairvoyants, prayer, church services, religious and healing services and it is a major backdrop for the paranormal. Thousands of people flock to Lily Dale to embrace spiritual awareness, uplifting lectures and to speak with one of the many mediums that live in the town. Psychic medium John Edward and Spiritual medium James Van Praagh are frequent visitors of Lily Dale, and offer private appointments and give regular lectures.

The quaint serenity of the community that embraces the power of free will and openly communicating with the dead is embellished with Victorian gingerbread style homes reminiscent of a different era, but amongst the many treasures you will find is an atmosphere filled with energy, yet has clearly not been marred by charlatans or self-proclaimed psychic fortune-tellers, tea-leaf, palm or crystal ball readers promising divine destinies and impossible dreams for a large sum of money. Known as the town that talks to the dead, "Lilly Dale" was founded in 1879 by sisters Margaret and Kate Fox, role models and leaders of the creation of Spiritualism. The town was later named Lily Dale, possibly due to the massive amounts of lilies found growing around the nearby area of the lake. The original cottage of founders Margaret and Kate Fox was moved to Lily Dale in 1916 from nearby Hydesville, giving the community instant recognition for Spiritualism overnight. By 1927 Lily Dale had an official postal name and zip code.

Lily Dale Ghost Walks

Every year on Wednesdays, from July 3 through August 28, Lily Dale residents and visitors will meet at the auditorium for a scheduled ghost walk that leads you on a tour mixed with history and the stuff legends are made of. The medium guide will touch on etheric energy, which he claims all humans possess. It can be greatly improved by healthy eating and an energized aura that is vitalized by deep breathing. The energy evaporates, but can remain when strong emotion is connected to them. Some people can pick up on it and actually see this energy that has been left behind. While learning about etheric energy, you will pass several of the well known haunted grounds where spirit's reside and stroll. You will experience the spirit lights that are often detected when passing the Healing Temple, and a visit to the historic museum brings forth unanswered questions as to the identity of the unseen hands that magically transported paint to a canvas, applying itself via a mist during a gathering. The granddaddy of all has to be "Inspiration Stump", the virtual energy vortex located in the historic Leolyn Woods that has been the heart of communication with the dead and delivering spiritual messages since 1898.

Location: Lily Dale Auditorium, Cottage Row, Melrose Park, Lily Dale, New York, 14752 Cost: $20.00 per person. Time: 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm.

Communicating with the Dead

Closure is something that most of us need when someone we love has passed over, and in not every instance of death is that possible. The town of Lily Dale has forty registered mediums that talk to the dead and relate to us the continuity of life. In 2010 HBO presented the "Devil's Playground" "No One Dies in Lily Dale", a documentary featuring Lily Dale spiritual mediums who openly convey the answers as to how they communicate with the dead. They claim to see, sense, smell and connect clearly with the other side, and relay messages that are intended for those grieving. The messages are nearly impossible to downplay in that they are typically something that no one else knows about other then the deceased, and the person receiving the information. It is clear that the mediums have strong convictions in this unique form of healing that puts them into direct communication with the unseen world and brings forth messages to loved ones who otherwise might never know what their loved one may have been attempting to convey, but was unable to without the help of a psychic or spiritual medium. The majority of the registered mediums have a bio page and an email located on the Official Site for the Lily Dale Assembly. All of this information including making a reservation with a registered Lily Dale medium is available at: http://www.lilydaleassembly.com/registered-mediums/
