Partner your jasmine rice with yummy and saucy General Tso’s chicken recipe.

The procedure consists of two cooking procedures one for the diced chicken breast and the other for the sauce. The dish was named after the Chinese General named Zou Zongtang, a general from Qing dynasty of Imperial China in 19th century. However, according to Wikipedia source, the dish has no connection with the general and the general himself haven’t tasted the dish. Some competing claims from Taiwan and the United States Chinese restaurants stressed that they are the 1st source of the dish, however, some are anecdotal and others are difficult to prove or deny.
Ingredients:
For the sauce
1 cup of Chicken stock
2 tbsp of Hoisen sauce
Half tbsp of sesame oil
¼ cup of cornstarch, flour
3 tbsp of vinegar
1 tbsp sugar
1 pinch of salt and pepper
1 tbsp of mixed and chopped garlic and onions
Scallions or onion leaves
For the chicken
1 Cornstarch flour
1 whole beaten egg
A ¼ kilo of diced chicken breast

2. Soak the chicken dices beaten egg and roll in cornstarch flour.
3. Deep fry the chicken dices until it becomes golden chicken nuggets. Set aside.
4. Cook the sauce mixture you have made before, simmer until it thickens.

Notes
1. Hoisen sauce can be found in Asian part of the supermarket. They look like oyster sauce bottles.
2. Use sesame oil lightly since has a strong flavor
3. Since I have no picture of the recipe, I used a picture from pixabay’s Chinese food.
