This video exposes the cruelty perpetrated on animals on factory farms and in slaughterhouses.

Meat, anyone?

The video below is shocking. It depicts how cruel is the treatment of animals on factory farms and in slaughterhouses. Produced by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and narrated by Paul McCartney, it shows most graphically the suffering of these animals as they are driven mercilessly to their cruel deaths. McCartney takes us on a brutal journey from the factory farm to and through the slaughterhouses, where workers - some of whom are downright sadistic and pathological - gleefully kill pigs and cattle and chickens and turkeys, even fish, and more. There is really nothing more to say, except that if you take the brief thirteen minutes to view this film, you will not only be shocked, the chances are you'll never again sit down to eat a nice, fat, juicy steak.

My wife and I have already really reduced the amount of meat we eat.

In the USA there are no humane slaughter laws for fish, chickens, or rabbits, and other animals are not killed with particular kindness either.

So, Dad, are you becoming a vegetarian now? If you recall, I became a total vegetarian (over 30 years ago!) when I accidentally ended up driving through a turkey farm somewhere in California. I had already given up all red meat, but that moment made it clear to me that I could not ethically continue to eat factory-produced animal products of any kind. In my opinion, the cruelty and violence done to these animals is inexcusable. And our consumption of animals raised and killed in this manner is certainly not justified simply because we "like" the flavor.

No, I'm not becoming a veggie, Tricia, but I am resolving to eat only free range, organic beef and fowl. As you know, I don't like fish, which seems to be just as dangerous to consume, to say nothing of the cruel methods by which they are caught and killed. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, dear daughter. It's always so nice to hear from you.

I am sure you are proud of you daughter, Steve. I dare not watch the video. The video showing outraged women attacking other women in fur coats was definitely acceptable.
