Respect Fir Trees

It is obvious that many people have no idea how to care for fir trees. Fir trees are dying right in front of our eyes and it is time to do something about it.

Respect Fir Trees

As we drive down the street I notice the fir trees in many of the yards. There are other trees too such as the maple, oak, pine all growing together and most do not seem to have any problems. It is the fir trees that people have no idea how to take care of and by pruning the fir trees incorrectly, or planting them in the wrong soil, or planting the fir trees too close to each other, or too close to a building are not allowing the fir trees to grow in comfort.
Many of the fir trees that have their lower branches cut off at the bottom will die. The fir tree is meant to have the lower branches. Cutting the lower branches from a fir tree in the early, middle or late growth is going to kill the fir tree. Planting a fir tree too close to a building or other fir trees is going to cause the death of the fir tree. There is not enough room for the fir tree to grow and not enough nourishment in the soil when the fir tree is not planted in a large enough area and be allowed to grow straight and tall.
The fir trees that the lower branches are not cut off are healthier and grow tall and straight as long as they are planted in an area that allows them to grow without being stopped by other trees or building structures.
When planting your fir tree think about what is best for your fir tree and not what is best for you. Look up information about the care of a fir tree because the more you know about your fir tree the better your fir tree will feel and look.

I think that fir tree is one of the wonders of nature. And we should protect and about the trees as we protect and care about our children. Thank you for wonderful article, Ellen.
