Just to salute you, my fellow workers on the occasion of the Workers Day.

Salute To Workers

I write to salute you that works to earn an income on this solemn feast of the workers. I am not excluding you if you belong to the group who earn their income online. I am also not counting you off if you are working outside of the internet to earn your daily bread.

My prayer for you today is that your income shall be enough to meet all your needs.

However, come to think of it, are you fully engaged by the job you are presently handling? What I mean is, are you challenged enough by the tasks you are accomplishing daily as a part of your routine?

Get Satisfaction From Your Job

In other words, are you getting satisfaction from the job you are doing? Do you go home each day satisfied that you have rendered a service selflessly, produced an item with due diligence and care, or fulfilled your daily tasks with all you have got?

If your answer is yes, then, you are a true worker in the sense of the word. Workers are the ones who make the wheel of government go round in every sense of the word.

As you celebrate this day and remember your colleagues who have gone ahead of you, one day in the not too distant future, others who will come before you will remember you and hold a minute's silence in your memory. On that day, your contributions will be clear for all to see.

Another Type Of Work

Have you considered the other type of work where you are both the boss and the staff? Have you deliberated on the fact that you can one day be your own boss and be answerable to nobody but to yourself?

It is quite possible and a reality when you work for yourself at home. This type of job is variously called work from home, work at home, home business or home based business.

One of the beauties of this type of job is that you avoid the daily commute that takes a large chunk of your working life-time. Most people commute for not less than one hour daily and nobody pays for it.

When you work from home, you gain such time daily for your other activities.

The other benefit is that you decide what to wear to go to work. You might work in your pyjamas one day and wear suit the next day. The choice is yours.

As you celebrate today, consider this option of working from home. You might do it offline or on the internet.

The choice, as they say, is entirely yours.

It does not matter how one earns his or her money as long as it is honest work. Anyone who works to earn their money is worthy of honor and praise.

I dunno - I know a lot of folks who take jobs just to get the "staff discount", they show up to the job and get paid, but dont actually "work".

Mark, these are the kinds of people to avoid in organizations. They do not work and they influence other workers negatively.
