Shrimp & Pineapple poppers

A simple recipe for appetizing and flavorful Shrimp & Pineapple poppers.


2 pounds of medium shrimp
2 cans of pre sliced pineapple { 1 inch cubes}
2 pounds of bacon { or two packages }
1 bottle of vegetable oil


1 ten inch pan. Smaller pans mean it may take longer to cook all you need.
A stirring spoon. 10 inch wooden preferred
Toothpicks, about 50 or so.
Meat scissors or a knife.


Ok start by cutting the strips of bacon in half so the 1 foot strips are now 6 inch strips. Now taking a pineapple cube a raw shrimp { hopefully de shelled }hold them together and wrap a strip of bacon around the duo. Now use 2 tooth picks to hold the fruit and meats together stick them in in an X fashion. Now finish up the rest of the raw ingredients in this manner you should have between 25 and 30 raw poppers.
Now set the pan on a stove burner on medium heat lightly greasing the pan with vegetable oil. Place 5 -8 popper in the pan and let them cook stirring lightly enough to keep them from falling apart but enough to keep from burning them. Now cooking time varies slightly but in general if the bacon is brown and the shrimp is pink the popper should be done. Remove the poppers from the pan to a plate to cool slightly. Ad more oil if needed and do some more poppers till their all cooked.

Servers 5-6 people serving size 5 poppers. { these little guys are vary fattening }
